I'm going through this with a business that I work at right now. I told the owners the same thing, you have to ASK for reviews. Your happy customers will do it, you just have to make it easy for them to do so. Cards, presenting a QR code or whatever to make it easy. There are so many great ideas in this video. Thanks Codie!

Anyone building their business to sell, reviews are also looked upon very favorably by buyers! They will research your company extensively online and this is the best way for them to see that your customers love your business. They’ll pay more for a business with tons of 5 star reviews.

Exactly what I’m doing again this week. The smartest thing I’ve ever done was having 30% in cash to buy on the way down in 2021. It hurt watching 30-40% discounts drop to 50, but grabbing Google, NVDIA, Apple, and others near the bottom has paid off

The biggest issue I see business have is they take reviews personally and they respond with an overly defensive, closed minded, sometimes nasty, public reply to bad reviews. Whenever I see this, it is a red flag for that company. As.a company, it would be better to ask for complaints (which are then sent to a different place than a public forum, but still to a "third party," or upper management, as people are much more open when they don't think they're being confrontational with the people who caused a problem) before asking for reviews on a public forum. Then you have the chance to appease the customer before they leave a bad review. And it allows them to let off steam, which stems the chance of a bad review.

People leave lots of reviews when it becomes a cascade, which means that if people can connect to other people and make some community of your services you won´t only have reviews, you will have loyal fans, people crazy about your image who comment on anything you sell or do. You have created a community that embraces your products or services, but be very aware because you have an image and a reputation to protect is a quality you are giving. Best wishes. Bye!

Cody, our customers are also competitors in our SaaS business, so they don't usually want to give us reviews or testimonials. They think by doing so, they'll be inviting competition to use our software, which they all think is awesome, btw. Any ideas for this kind of situation?
@Crumbsworth
8 ай бұрын
Obviously not Codie, but if I may, you should consider incentivizing your competitors to provide testimonials. Maybe you can exchange reviews for their products as well. There’s a lot of ways to get creative with this, but keeping it a simple exchange of value is a good place to start negotiating.
@markferguson5056
8 ай бұрын
@@Crumbsworth I guess I didn't word that quite correctly, it's not OUR competitors... our customers are competitors to each other. IOW, they would like to be the only ones using our software, because it gives them an advantage over THEIR competitors. Hence they don't want to tell others how good our software is, so we don't get many testimonials or reviews... unfortunately.
@Crumbsworth
8 ай бұрын
@@markferguson5056 that’s an interesting challenge. I know nothing about nothing, but this is a fun exercise for me. Hopefully it’s not a waste of your time. How immediate are they in proximity to each other? If they’re close by one another, then I can empathize with the level of difficulty of this ask. If they’re drawing from different pools of customers, and there are many other businesses that are competing in the space, then this could be an opportunity to reposition your clients from competitors with one another to collaborators against the industry. “Us vs. Them” is an intrinsically powerful motivator for humans. In this circumstance would be the group of power users already onboarded into your service against the rest of the businesses not using your software. It’s a narrative that could be centered around how supporting the growth of your business could afford you the resources to iterate at a higher level, thereby opening opportunity to snatch market share away from the people outside of your Community, or Tribe (if that word is even politically correct anymore). They don’t have to be so close as to share tactics. But your growth is their growth, and their success is yours. And I bet that if all of you are succeeding, the end-user is likely to be more satisfied as well. Packaging that message correctly could yield tremendous improvements. If you get one, you can probably get them all, especially if there’s an aforementioned incentive attached to providing the testimonial.

@ericaunger8147
8 ай бұрын
Work it into the conversation. For example, I help run my husband's dental practice. When a patient is checking out, we ask how everything went. When they give that positive verbal feedback, we say something like, "that's so great to hear! If you are interested in leaving us a Google review, that would be amazing." Sometimes they'll say something like, "I'm going to tell my friends how great it is here," which gives us a chance to say something like "Well, feel free to tell Google, too!" We recently put a QR code on the back of our business cards that goes straight to the office's Google review section, too.
