Writing in the language you are learning is very useful. Write about yourself and the things that interest you since these things will definitely come up in conversation. That way, you also develop the vocabulary you are apt of using.

After several months of trying to learn French on my own, I finally got an iTalki tutor. My tutor has helped me so much. I wished I had of started talking sooner. I was scared, LOL! I am also guilty of translating in my head.

Italki is just so helpful. I have been learning chinese for the past year with italki. I kinda slowed down cuz I had exams but after my exams I will definitely do like an intensive 1 per day session for maybe even 2 weeks haha.

Making realistic goals is so important! After learning my first language, it became so much easier to learn my next one and make appropriate goals. Making mistakes was a huge issue for me in the beginning. Now after learning a language already I feel so much easier to go and make tonnes of mistakes and put myself out there in my next languages

Rania Essa don’t start with grammar or it will overwhelm you. Grammar will come through as you move on. I would say start by learning greetings, how to introduce yourself, and stuff. Are you like in school or at a Uni or are you working already?

Rania Essa introducing yourself, asking someone what their name is, what their job is? Small talk stuff.

Your points are so valid! Language is speech, therefore means that lots of speaking with individuals (native speakers or highly proficient individuals) is required. WhatsApp is also another common and useful app in addition to the apps you've mentioned through which one can speak with native speakers.

I’ve been studying Portuguese for 9 years now and I’ve visited Brasil 18 times but I still can’t read or converse and I have to translate everything into English to understand. I practice every day with my girlfriend who only speaks Portuguese and we’ve been practicing for 6 years now but I still can’t understand her. I need to find a way to learn without translating everything into English.

I think of it like playing a game: You gotta get used to the key binds (syntax) right outta the gate, and no matter how similar two games (languages) are, there's always gonna be some manner of distinction between them, so don't treat it like the same thing I hope this helped

I had it in school for 2 years then I moved to Spain. So about 1-2 years for speaking and understanding almost everything. However I always did practice more than just in classes with the methods I talk about in my videos:)
