Dr. Bikman is one of my 4 go-to Doctors. Every time he talks I make sure to listen: I'm a strength and conditioning coach with many years of experience, from elite athletes to the average man/woman on the street. Every single average man/woman without fail could not believe my opening statement to them as a new client (if their goal was weight loss) I'd always start with, "You're not going to lose weight in the gym training with me" They were gob-smacked at that statement. And then I'd explain why, and that I would educate them about eating healthier, but more importantly, LESS FREQUENTLY! There's the key right there, FREQUENCY I personally eat in a 2-hour window ONLY. I've lived the OMAD, Low-Carb lifestyle for the past 6 years, NO EXCUSES! 365 days a year, YES, even Christmas day. I provide all the visual proof. I Walk the Walk not just talk it! Head over and see everything from explanations, food prep, and exercise. But what you'll see most in bucket loads is, No Excuses/Commitment/Discipline/Zero Delusion! Remember, there is no tomorrow Good luck - Leo Low-Carb Lion

@@feelMYmeat I listen, compare and weigh up what they say; I don't necessarily agree with everything that a person says. I have had a fatty liver for at least 20 years (I also have other more recent scans to compare to; I plan to get a follow scan done in October 2022) and I was diagnosed diabetic in October 2021 and after only 3 months low carb diet managed to get my a1c from 7.0 to 5.2, reduced blood pressure, improved cholesterol, and lost 1/8 of my body weight without even trying (and I'm starting to gradually lose more), no fasting and no drugs. I figuratively thumbed my nose at me doctor who wanted me to start a statin and Metformin and change diet (probably regular "diabetic" low fat diet, not low carb) but I told her that you don't have more than 1 variable. So I am really thankful that I found out the information and changing what I ate worked, and so quickly.

As a long-time type 1 diabetic I can confirm that although oatmeal spikes my blood glucose more slowly than many other starchy foods, it still causes a prolonged rise. Steel-cut oats need a lot of cooking, and by the time they’re ready to eat they’re probably not much better than those partly pre-cooked quick oats. Scots often like oatmeal with lots of heavy cream, and that probably helps. Dried mature legumes: some have a lot of indigestible fiber, especially chickpeas, which also have surprisingly good-quality protein. I can get quite a prolonged if somewhat slow rise in blood glucose from beans. Maybe the fat in hummus slows things a bit more, and I’ve made baked beans low in sugar and high in bacon fat that take a while to cause that big rise. Still, I haven’t eaten such things now for over a year.
