Fantastic video Kyle! You are a great mechanical guy for rebuilding the 1985 Pontiac Viera, such my imagination that the car is in repair.

Kyle your videos just keep getting better and better. You have become very knowledgeable about the inner workings of a car not just reviewing them but being able to work on them as well. Great job keep up the good❤

Ronald Finger did a similar rebuild series restoring a Fiero that had been sitting in a field for twenty years. That video journey took him three and a half years to complete from start to finish.

I don't know who that is, but this car is more of a "budget" restoration. I hope to have it wrapped up in the next month so I can get back to my core projects.

Just about hahaha. I definitely don't have the time or patience to tackle that, just doing the best I can with what I have to work with.

Do you clear coat these parts after painting them?
@saabkyle04
10 ай бұрын
I did not. I just applied a sealer before the base coat. In my experience, it's not always necessary to clear, but if you have the time and the extra funds to put towards it, it's a nice things to do to really "finish" everything off.

At 11:18 i habe a question - Did you clean and remove the rust completely? Because i seem to spot some in the lower right corner of the thing you were priming?
@saabkyle04
10 ай бұрын
I cleaned and prepped and treated as much as I felt was necessary. Being more of a budget build, there's isn't the time and money to do concourse quality.

It is a shame that engineers could not come up with bushings snd bearings that require machinery to install. Silly if you ask me.

Control ball joints and rubber bushings! No crsp. That’s called an overhaul. It is not a big deal and any serious car owner has this done at ten year intervals.

All that shiny new stuff being installed in that filthy undercarriage is triggering me.
