Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching verse-by-verse through The Book of Exodus in this sermon from Exodus 20:12 entitled, “The Fifth Commandment.”
In Exodus 20:12, we read the fifth command, where God demands that we honor our parents, and it is accompanied with a covenantal promise, that those who do so will live long in the Promised Land. In the New Testament, we see that this command is certainly binding upon Christians and has two intended applications: 1) preadult children must honor their parents through obedience, and 2) adult children must honor their aging parents through financial support.
The following is a sermon on Exodus 20:12, and below you will find the video recording and a sermon outline to help you follow along as you watch. I hope this study tool helps you grow in your love for the Lord Jesus and in your obedience to Him.
