Interesting about the having to wait for the barley to go though its dormancy phase before your can get it to germinate. Nature at its finest.

You never brew with the fresh hops?

I have in the past (search for "Black Mamba" on my blog for a fresh hop black IPA I often make). This year, life was simply too busy to fit in a fresh-hop brewday.

@@SuiGenerisBrewing Too often life gets in the way of the more important things. Probably good priorities were upheld though. I have heard that you have to start drying the hop pretty much within the first 24h to avoid noticeable degredation, so I guess the hops would have to be harvested on brew day or the day before. Looking forward to seeing how the beer turns out.

@pukbobo1423 I dry as soon as they are picked. I let them sit for a day (a few years ago), and they went mouldy and couldn't be used.

@@SuiGenerisBrewing That is a shame. Are your hops any specific variety?
