I was in T.A.C.P. Tactical Air Control Party in the Marines and you can tell the type of plane they fly by the speed of their voice when speaking. Helicopter pilots speak more slowly. This was awesome.

Do the F-15 Strike Eagle sometime! That is the best fighter, aside from the F-14. One of my family members that I never met, he worked a little bit on the F-15 in the 80s when it started. He was Richard Stockton Rush III who died on the Ocean Gate submarine

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

Theres actually 4 variants of the F35. The A, B, C and I. The I is the Israeli variant. The reason they have their own variant is because Israel wanted to put some of their own tech in their F35s. They are the only non-US F35 operators that are allowed to do this
@Orbital_Inclination
3 сағат бұрын
In reality, it's just a marketing gimmick to make Israel feel special. Norway have a modded version of the A with a drag chute, which is structurally different to a standard A, but didn't feel the need to ask for it to be called the N variant. Otherr nations like the UK also have some control over differences in mission software, and yet those also aren't classified as different variants.

The F-35A isn't specifically "designed for air to air combat". The F-35 family as a whole is multi-role in design. They are all capable air to air platforms, and yes the A can rate fight better due to higher thrust to weight, but The F-35A isn't designated an Air superiority fighter. The F-35 was designed to replace/augment the F-16, F-18, A/V-8B and A-10. The F-22 and F-15C/E/EX/QA all fill the air superiority roles, while the F-15E and newer models also fill gaps in the air to ground capabilities by bringing a ton of weapons and high speed and exceptional maneuvering abilities.
@laskey2175

Love the video! Radar reflects off of 90° angles. So to make a stealth aircraft we need to make an aircraft without any 90° angles. Add a super secret non-reflective coating and we have the F-22 and the F-35. Amazing.

Newly released audio files show that the Marine Corps called 911 after one of their F-35 fighter jets went missing in South Carolina last September. The F-35 experienced what Marine Corps officials referred to as a "mishap" over the skies of the state's Lowcountry region on Sept. 17, 2023, according to military authorities. The pilot survived after reportedly being ejected from the jet and parachuting down to a residential neighborhood in North Charleston, but the F-35 continued traveling until it disappeared from view, prompting officials to try to track down its location. "I believe we potentially have an aircraft that went down in Williamsburg County earlier today," a major from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort told a Williamsburg County 911 dispatcher. "You believe you have an aircraft that went down in Williamsburg County?" the dispatcher asked in response. "That is correct," the major replied. "We are trying to look for it and we are coming up dry so far."
