Fun video as usual. When I was running my solar wiring through the RV wall an electrician friend told me to loop the wires lower than the entry point so that when water runs along the wire it will drip off at the lowest point instead of following the wire into the wall. Looks like you could easily route the Starlink cable under the marker light so it has a point lower than the entry into the plastic/van.

Hello Jimmy and Natalie. It was awesome to meet the both of you at Walmart. The both of you totally made my day. I was just enjoying my lunch break and you both walked by. Thanks for taking a picture with me. Like I said if you're ever through my area again stop in for an oil change or tires. I really wanted to see pancake but I didn't want to intrude. Both of you travel safe.

That silky soft face on the Alpaca boy, so adorable! There used to be an alpaca farm a 2 minute drive from my house, they also sold alpaca wool, and you could go on a guided walk with them in the fields. Sadly, I only admired them from a short distance, and now the couple running the farm, have sold the farm and left.

Yes, Starlink is expensive....but I'm glad you got it! No more "rushing to a free wi-fi" place or hoping you can upload on your cellular plan, etc. Now, it's just get clear line of sight, which you'll do anyways for solar and you're good! So cool that Jimmy's parents are doing the RV life as well! Not sure I'd do a Class A...probably go with a Class C. The smaller Sprinter/ProMaster vans, I don't think I could get used to that amount of space. Been thinking of taking a year after I retire in 10 years....to just drive the US and Canada. I suspect Starlink will be a part of my budget. hehe. I'll probably rent a Class C for a week or two before retiring to "take test trips" with and see how I like it. I've already driven most of the US and some of Canada as it is. Enjoy the time off! Have some awesome holidays and we'll catch you in January!!

I LOVE alpacas! Especially the sound they make. So cute. Ok Natalie, did you know that alpaca fiber is 10x warmer than wool? Also, if you guys knew how much work goes into that one pair of socks (shearing the alpaca, skirting the fleece, washing the fiber, combing it to make roving that will be spun into yarn and then knit into socks, etc.) you would understand why they cost $25. Just buying a skein of alpaca yarn can be close to that price, so getting already made socks is a deal! You can’t compare those socks 🧦 to a pair you would get at say…Walmart. 😊

Hi Jimmy and Natalie. I've enjoyed watching your adventures from bus build to van and abroad. I'm sorry to interrupt your family time for the holidays, I don't need a quick response, but I have a quick question for Nat and I didn't know which video to leave this comment on. Anyhooo...I bought a bus last March and have been slowly working on it. I bought it out of necessity to get out of the house I'm in so I don't have to pay that enormous rent anymore. I'm a single mom with two teens who will be out of the house very soon. My point is I've been working several jobs on top of my full time job just to get by. Here's the question- I signed up for Appen long time ago (as a fourth gig) but I can't seem to qualify for any projects to work on. Or once I pass the initial questions it says there's no openings. I saw a video of you speaking about working on projects for them. How the heck do I get assigned a project? Is there a trick or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Marry Christmas to you both! Have fun with your family and I can't wait to see your next adventures! Cheers!-Lisa

150/mo seems steep. But I guess its worth being able to have it wherever you go. Though I gotta say I use T-Mobile home 5g now for 50/mo and I could technically bring the router anywhere to plug in. But why would you right? Also it clearly would never work in the middle of the desert or some of theother places you folks travel.

Some tips for Starlink.... 1) You should have purchased the hardware in Canada - you can get refurbished hardware for 260ish CAD. 2) Don't keep the router in your van - unless you want to fry your brains. IT'S POWERFUL. We keep our router in a plastic box outside - even in freezing weather... its fairly weatherproof. Keep it in the shade if its sunny. 3) Don't back-up into the dish. We backed-uped onto the dish base and broke our motor. Thankfully Starlink is sending us another refurb dish and credited us 1 month free. Enjoy Starlink - its a GAMECHANGER!
