Tom, thank You for arranging with Harry and sending Rickey down to capture video, edit, post videos for this unusual, special "Grass Roots" Drag N Drive, Booz N Drag Event downunder in Victoria, Australia. This First Day video presents quite an interesting event, experience with a wide variety. This event seems to be end of their Summer, as in September within warmer climates in the USA. All The Best, Sincerely

The old Aussies are as hard as nails... Up in the Northern Territory 30 years ago i watched two "hard" station hands go at it for just over 90 minutes outside the Bark Hut Inn. When they were done they were both covered in blood and cut up from head to chest... the temperature was about 35 degrees!.

1 Australian second is currently 0.65 US second. So a 10 second run in Aus is a 6.50 1/4 mile run in the US. If you're in the US, you have to increase the playback speed to 1.5 so you can see the correct timing.
@lazyhoundracing9621

Huge selection of engines with few people building them. having such a small population Aussies need to work extra hard to see what works and what doesn't.
@5lcalais1
4 ай бұрын
They're expensive that's why lol people asking 3k plus for 200,000 mile ls ,coyotes start at 9k ,understandable as they only come in 2 cars the mustangs and falcons and being they're fairly reliable it's rare you find any for sale. 2016 mustang still go for 50k+ ,xr8 falcons 30-50k , fpvs 60k+ ,only thing cheap here really is barras and even they're not that cheap any more, factory turbo engines are 6k+. But u can still pick up na 100$ ones and u can still make 550 whp on them, that'll run about 10k in mods but if u drop in something light like a cortina for e.g. it'll be capable of low 10s maybe high 9s ,I'm running 11s in my 480whp 09 falcon and it's 1700kgs but tr6060 and 3.73s help a lot. It's pb is 11.94@114 on 336hp ,now with 480 it should go 11.50s or lower possibly 🤞 Unfortunately nothing is cheap on Aussie cars anymore, I paid 28k for my 09 falcon xr6 turbo (cheapest manual I could find) and there's about 12k in mods on top ,ended up at 480whp n 775nms torque ,can go more but no point really, torque doesn't increase much ,at 600hp u only gain 25nms and just put more wear on the engine lol

mainly due to Ford Australia and General motors Holden sharing designers and engineers. Holden designers helped design General Motors cars worldwide over the years. 5th Gen Camaro Aussie helped design it and it used the Australian Holden Zeta chassis design. the Cadillac CTS V also helped designed by Michael Simcoe who designed the 2000 Holden Monaro that was sold in USA as Pontiac GTO Coupe.
