Improvisation is an exhilarating experience for many musicians, terrifying for others. There are so many musical ideas that a person could be thinking about, from chords to scales to vocabulary to style and articulations, just to scratch the surface. The whole experience can feel overwhelming. But there are two aspects that must be prioritized above all: the quality of your sound and your rhythmic feel. When everything you play goes through the filter of sound and feel, your confidence soars and your solos begin to make a positive impact on your listeners, even while your are developing your harmonic vocabulary.
