thanks for the jstris mode. i was gunna try learning t-spins until i watched this video, played the mode and realised i am much shitter than i thought i was. really drove home how impulsive i am, rarely planning ahead and never looking at the previews so i feel like this is going to help me a lot in overcoming that.

for myself bad stacking: -pits(I/L/J dependency) -spikes/stairs(T dependency) -cliffs(split stack) how to improve: -pattern recognition (recalling solutions to parts of board) -pattern resolution (choosing from possible solutions) -pattern composition (combining solutions, using queue)

Everyone who wants to get better at stacking should practice pcing, it helped me improve my visualization skills, get flat builds quicker and become more flexible with pieces even though thats not the main focus when doing it

I am super new trying to get good at tetris and tried using your practice tool, but something different from the practice setting in jstris was a time limit to automatically place a block if you are taking too long to place it. I couldn't find the config setting to turn that off because I am not that fast yet lol. Any help?

this is a awesome guide it is really helping me improve my stacking but one trouble i have with tetris is that i dont know how to practice using piece preview effectively and improve my piece preview usage i hope i can overcome that in future.
@orztetris
2 жыл бұрын
I may make a short video on this, it’s not something you can really practice in isolation and you need to really have down some solid stacking patterns in order to use previews well but there is some stuff to talk about. definitely keep practicing that stacking and you’ll find it becoming easier once you try and focus on your previews
@jeson9962
2 жыл бұрын
As a U rank tetrio player I will just say the preview will come naturaly to you as you play and that its really hard to force yourself to use preview effectively until you get pretty good at the game.

This is a great video, but why does the jstris map you linked hard drop the piece after some amount of time? Seems counter to the whole point of a learning mode to interrupt the player trying to find the best placement.

My main problem with Tetris are controls. In particolar I can't surpass S1 grade in the Arika games. Blocks are so fast in that phase that sometime inputs don't respond even if I know where they should go and even if I am fast. Please help me and tell me how to grind up. Every answer will be allowed.
