@craigpetty The flipper was invented by Eddy Taytelbaum a Indonesian fellow who moved tot the Netherlands. It was made by Flip Postma ( I don't know if that gave it it's name, but I think so) Tis was around 1959.... I know this for 100 % sure, because Flip Postma was the man who teached me magic, I was around 18 years, I'm now 61. Flip Postma was the one who did it with a shell for the first time...Bob Swadling went on and made it locked....But was not the inventor...

I use this with a folding coin.It was a coin across from New York magic symposium VHS tape I have. From Greater magic book I also have. The folding coin has a smaller overlap which with my super small hands is good with 3 &4 overlapped coins. But it cannot work with 2 coins. But I can show 2 coins separately with less overlap.I don't use Roth's retention toss.I keep everything slow and open.

Grateful to Craig for maintaining the secrets of gimmicks to many people purchasing tricks exposing their workings mechanisms and secrets on the principle I’ve bought it so it’s mine.Problem with that exposure mentality if a person isn’t skilled in achieving the same effect without gimmick it kills the trick.Every gimmick I own I train to present the effect without the gimmick then sneak the gimmick in under their nose always have a switch out plan ready.Love Craigs work I’m all for promoting the art but let’s protect the value of the gimmicks.

A new coin video would be fantastic, even if it is just a retread of your old work - there are many gems there that would be great with better quality video, and your updated handlings like Empowerment on the At the Table DVD. What would also be great would be a full coin magic course taking someone from the basics to full routines, kind of like Liam Montier's deep dives on his Project (Elmsley, DL etc.) DVDs. Also agree with your points on using gaff coins - as hugely flawless as a performance by the likes of Michael Rubenstein is, there's just something (watching as a magician) slightly off about his ungimmicked CSB routine. IMO it's far cleaner using a gaff set, and with good routining (like Mark Mason's routine), you're completely clean at both the beginning and end of the performance for examinations.

There is nothing wrong with this video. If you think this is exposure you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Laymen look on KZitem for instant gratification. No laymen with spend 60 mins watching a video to learn a simple secret and the video isn’t tagged. So unless they type flipper coin they won’t find this video. And if they already know the term flipper coin they aren’t a laymen.

@@magic-tv startin with I have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, when you don’t know who I am is a little daft don’t you think? Any exposure of certain gimmicks and uses I take issue with. @@ValrikJay if I jumped to the wrong conclusion I apologise. However you came on a video I produced and said you wish people would stop making videos like this. Anyway I had a lot of criticism in the past about this video which I addressed in a follow up video. The point is the only way this video can be found is in someone is searching for ‘flipper coin’ or they are subscribed to my channel. This is a channel for magicians and if they are subscribed to my channel they have an interest in magic. If they have searched for the term Flipper Coin they obviously have insider knowledge. If you want use tag explorer and you see the tags on this video. My channel does not have tutorials. I product content to try and help magicians. I produce long fork content. Laymen searching for secrets looks for short form content. They will not watch a 60 mins video to find out how to make a coin vanish. Do you understand how KZitem and the algorithm works?

This channel is designed for magicians only. Any laymen that decides to click on this video would be bored to death before seeing any secrets. Plus you wouldn’t find this video unless you searched specifically for a flipper coin and if that’s the case you are more than a passing laymen looking for a secret. Laymen would search for vanishing coin or some other similar term and this video would never show up. It’s like the video on mem deck magic that I did. Yes it exposes the concept of a memorised deck but nobody would find that video unless they searched for memorised decks. And even with all that I never showed the workings of the flipper or showed the mechanism. I talked about the flipper and performed my routines (and to be clear all the routines I performed were mine). But let’s be honest if a laymen say through that video for 40 mins they deserve to know the secret. However I’ve had several magicians contact me saying they have ordered a flipper after watching this video which was the intention of the video. I think you are creating a problem that doesn’t exist.

@@magic-tv I totally agree with you Craig. What it is is these gentlemen have magicians guilt. Nothing was exposed that a layman would ever understand anyways. Even if they did happen to stumble on this video the trick that you perform on the streets to any laymen they are not going to say oh i know that trick it watched it on Craigs KZitem channel its a flipper coin. In fact they would have no clue what method you used to do the coin across routine or 3 fly or anything for that matter. Its a shot in the dark. I can do coins across with regular coins, a shell, or a flipper. Plus arnt you supposed to use misdirection by talking and bringing their eyes up to your eyes so that you can do the dirty work.
