Thank you so much! The inside secret to when I am doing voiceovers... just means we didn't talk to the camera at all. LOL Lots a B-roll. Being stationary for so long we sometime forgot to vlog... so I have to improvise to bring the story to life in another way. Glad you are enjoying it.

Does the radiant heat use oil for heating? It seems when you arrived in AK you started the construction of the house, how much longer before that you started to work with a contractor on the floor plan and so?

yes its oil heat and when our neighborhood gets natural gas in a few years we can convert it over to gas if we wish. As for your second question we found the builder before we moved up in March. We worked on designs with him and went through several versions when we finally put our own design down on paper and passed it across the table and said build this. He engineered our plans and made it work. I love drawing house plans and seeing something we envisioned ourselves come to live was exciting... this house was 100% custom with many inspirations taken from our old house and incorporated into this house.

Love your videos so far. Are you two retired or do you have new jobs in Alaska? Your new place will be so nice and I’m jealous about your new shop. Glad you guys can live your dreams thanks for sharing

We talk about that in the Happy Hour Live Chat we did a couple of weekends ago. We are retired young but I run our RVing to Alaska business and Gary is/was working part time for a company guiding snowmachine/atv tours. He's temporarily off the job right now because he hurt his knee last month and will have surgery coming up in March.

Radiant heat, how is it working?

It's wonderful... but we definitely have been using the wood stove more. Heating oil as you can imagine has been VERY expensive these past two winters so having the ability to heat most of the living space by wood has been a game changer.
