Most of this group is gone now. Tommy Atwood, the tenor, might still be alive, but I know all the others have passed on.

I saw a post from Tommy's daughter, and Tommy is still alive, but he's not in good health. Prayers for Tommy Atwood.

This song was writen by my father Elmo Rodgers in the 1950's I believe. The Oak Ridge Boys, who were a southern gospel quartet at the time, was the first major group to record this song to the best of my knowledge.

I'm curious to know if there was a hiccup in the video (which I know is quite old). When Billy sings "but the tender hand that leads me, is the hand that keeps me steady", it doesn't sound quite right. Either way, it's thrilling to get to see these old videos again after so many years.

I'm pretty sure that Duane Allen with the Oakridge Boys wrote this song.
