This song was playing while i was on mushrooms, i wrote the lyrics on my jeans in whiteout then coloured them in rainbow. It seemed right at the time. I still have those jeans, even though they don't fit anymore. I fucking love this song.

Weird and good indeed. Lou Barlow deserves so much more cred for having been in this band on top of Dino and Sebadoh! It just speaks to how dynamic and talented he was without selling out his own sound or style. I was a huge Sebadoh fan in the 90s and Folk Implosion definitely expanded my musical horizons beyond typical indie rock.

Recently saw somebody going in depth about how beck's Loser proved this kind of thing could be hit, and led to major labels putting money into releases like this or Pepper by the Butthole Surfers. Wasn't just good bands either, like Rick Rubin discovered God Lives Underwater and churned out that track From You Mouth (you'll probably recognize it). Which is kinda the direction the trip hoppy weird alternative rock pop anthems went in by the late 90s. Id like to see a playlist of all the songs like these or someone really go in depth on how a lot of hits are manufactured

I heard it in a show called Brand New Cherry Flavor on Netflix. My son asked who it was. I said, I'm not sure it was in a movie called Kids in the '90s. I remembered hearing it on the radio and it was just weird enough for me to dig it. It reminded me of 120 minutes or Alternative Nation. Yeah, great song!

I remember this video from when we'd recently gotten cable and M.T.V. was an exciting novelty. Always loved this song, I remember MTV was still good around when this came out but all the damn reality shows started to really take off and I felt MTV died within a few years of this video. I used to watch all the time then couldn't stand it anymore. I always thought this guys voice sounds a lot like the Zombie's Colin Blunstone on Time of the Season. Either way it was still a great era for music. Can't stand the new stuff today.

Me too. I graduated high school in 91 so from 91 until 95 / 96 I really enjoyed coming home from work and watching some MTV until all the bullshit started to take over. Once 97 to 99 hit the world doesn't feel the same at all to me. I don't think anything will ever touch the 80's and 90's with how cool things were back then.
