+aria afghan Many to most rulers and commanders were pretty conceited. A lot of emperors in the ancient world also fancied themselves, gods. When you have that kind of ego, anything and anyone else is garbage to you, I guess. Many rulers and commanders might have thought that their influence is better, in any regard. But, it is a shame...it's a big reason why six of the seven ancient wonders are gone. The longest-reigning empire was home to the only remaining ancient wonder.

I have known many dynasties and empires, they are famous because of the killings and slavery( i will not name them) but Cyrus who had created an empire, a conqueror, a liberator, a just law giver, i was surprised his tomb was very simple without decorations, a humble king with humble beginnings. I guess the prophet Ezra knew about this. No, the Achaemenids are not forgotten, they are always remembered as stories in the Bible even in the Koran.....

Cyrus was Gods anointed one.Cyrus was a model-and to the Greeks, an ideal-king. Though Cyrus built his empire primarily by conquest, local peoples often greeted him as a savior after his impressive victories over their rulers. He is remembered as being even-handed, humane and respectful of indigenous cultures and religions. Modern scholars sometimes credit him as being the founder of multiculturalism and the first to publish a declaration of human rights Best civilization

Perseus and Andromeda had seven sons: Perses, Alcaeus, Heleus, Mestor, Sthenelus, Electryon, and Cynurus, and two daughters, Gorgophone ("Gorgon Killer") and Autochthoe ("Born in the Land"). Perses was left in Aethiopia and became an ancestor of the emperors of Persia. The other descendants ruled Mycenae from Electryon down to Eurystheus, after whom Atreus got the kingdom.

According to Aristotle, Solon legislated for all citizens to be admitted into the Ekklesia[50] and for a court (the Heliaia) to be formed from all the citizens.[51] The Heliaia appears to have been the Ekklesia, or some representative portion of it, sitting as a jury.[52][53] By giving common people the power not only to elect officials but also to call them to account, Solon appears to have established the foundations of a true democracy

The Persian Empire was founded by Cyrus the Great (576/590529 BC). Slavery was an important institution in ancient Persia and there are substantial records which provide a better idea of the institution than in earlier states of the ancient Middle Eas. The famous Cyrus Cylinder speaks of abolishing slavery, yet we know that slavery was an important institution in ancient Persia. Persia as founded by Cyrus was an aggressively expansionary military empire.

I've become interested in the Achaemenid empire recently and other parts of the middle east as well prior to the influx of Islam. I believe the Persians will rule again when their values match that of Cyrus the Great. A multicultural empire that protects the freedoms and rights of their citizens is a powerful one. America was somewhat successful but has slowly taken those freedoms from law abiding tax payers due to the complaints of small minorities over trivial issues and she will pay for it. The downward spiral has begun. Thanks for the video I enjoyed it very much.

@Garudaa Um, Parthians are still part of Greater Persia. Plus, there was a dynasty that ruled from about 320 BCE to 220 BCE. One of Alexander's generals married a Persian girl and after Alex died, he took over like 80% of Alexander's empire and named it the Seleucid Empire. Greek was the language of professional businessman and the government, but it was run by Persians and some Greeks. Persian history begins in 3500 BCE with the Elamites. In SW Iran they built the old civilization ever.

If the Persian army had won these battles and succeeded in conquering Greece, the first casualty would be Democracy. At that time only Athens had developed an early form of Democracy as we know it today and that was taken later by other city states and the Roman Empire. Had the Persians won at that time, that basis of Democracy would have been lost, at least for the time being, but certainly postponed probably for a long time.

All Aryans originate from Iran (Aryana) , they migrated sometime before 10,000 years ago to other regions e.g. Mesopotamia, Europe, India, etc. Research shows that Elamites and Sumerians who created the 1st civilizations pre-4000 BC, were Aryans (Iranians), Refer to Prof. L A Waddell and Dr. Surena Firoozi studies. That's why in 600 BC we have a society that creates an Empire far ahead of its time, based on respect to humanity and not just sheer power.
