It was Jabba the Hutt that actually got me into Star Wars when I was younger because I feared him but at the same time was intrigued. I never understood the details when I was young but I always questioned why Han Solo owed money to him and should have paid him back or never borrowed at all but as I got older I was able to learn the details as to how Han got into this mess. It’s also nice to learn about Hutt culture and their government. I learned huttese currencies was worth more than the old republic credit which is surprising but they were economically sound however I wonder if the IGBC were the guarantor of their huttese currency.

@jon6309
Жыл бұрын
@@michaelblower7363 it’s seems like many neutral governments were seeking the services of the InterGalactic Banking Clan since they had immense deposits of precious minerals to back whichever currency they issued. I read that during the clone wars many planets beyond the Core and Inner-rim regions stopped accepting credits due to the uncertainty of the war and started issuing their own currencies. It was reported that the IGBC was issuing 20 new currencies per day profiting from this services. I am not sure if the Hutts would allow an outside entity to have some control over their currency but the planet Mygeeto which was owned by the IGBC had proven reserves of Nova Crystals which was valued by the Hutts and accepted as a de facto currency in the Outer-rim making it ideal and capable for it to back the Huttese currency. Although the hutts were probably capable in backing their own currency it would be difficult to determine which Hutt clan would be responsible and due to their nature there would probably be mistrust between each clan in controlling the monetary system so the IGBC would be an ideal entity to hold responsibility being neutral. I read after the Empire collapsed the IGBC and Munnulist continued to remain a part of the Imperial Remnant but backed both credits of the New Republic and Imperial Remnant. After learning all of this I was very surprised that Watto did not accept Quigon Jin’s offer in Republic credits as it was actually a substantial amount. Since Tattooine was controlled by the Hutts I’m sure Quigon could have exchanged his credits for Hutt currency that was accepted since the Hutts did trade with the Republic and even participated in the Eriadu Trade Summit. Only reason I could think as a possibility at this point was Quigon didn’t have the physical form of credits and was trying to pay in digital form which was very hard to exchange in a backward world like Tattooine which didn’t have a presence of the IGBC to exchange or the technology to service digital payment transactions.

Extra details about the Hutts is neat, since they can be a bit more important, and nuanced, than JUST Jabba the Hutt. This was neat! There are several races in Star Wars I particularly like; the Chiss (Thrawn), the Falleen (Xizor), the Arkanians (Arca Jeth), and even a few more minor examples we never hear about; I like the Melodies, and the Codru-Ji, because both are metamorphic species, in their development, and I still have a dream of someday running a SWRPG game where a forgotten Order 66 survivor I'd found. She wad a Melody, and spent her childhood ar the Temple, but got off Coruscant before Darth Vader felled the Temple. She had needed to return home, because of her imminent evolution, but had to divert to Dac/Mon Cala, prior to reaching Yavin VIII, and changed there, compelling her to remain on that aquatic world, and quietly support Rebellion. Even with all that babble, though, one race I'd really like to see a video on, assuming I hadn't simply missed it, in a play list, is the Anzati. They certainly aren't important, in the grand scheme of things; I'm sure Dannik Jerriko got what backstory he has simply because somebody said "and who is THAT cantina resident? What is he up to?", but bizarre space Vampires, sucking life, luck, and soup from their prey, like some human-looking Illithid, and using something akin to the Force to find such victims, is neat!
