This is the purest destillation of 80's sf. Too bad most of the spanish artists who collaborated in the magazine are mostly forgotten nowadays. As for some of the works mentioned, both El último recreo and Fragmentos de la enciclopedia délfica are must haves.

Awesome to see such amazing Filipino artists that contributed to this publication. Sadly these days, many of the country’s best artists can’t make a living doing original work, instead choosing to work on mainstream DC and Marvel titles.

Nice video, this was, together with Heavy Metal, the most free and creative period of comic art in the last century. I would only comment on the reason you pointed out for the end of this publication in Spain. You say that the availability of other "more innovative" comic publications such as manga and superheroes led to lack of interest in the public for this magazine. Superheroes' stories is the least innovative and most boring form of comic possible, they have been repeating the same few stories about the same few characters for 60 years now (80 for superman and batman), they only used the power of marketing to flood European markets with their boring stories. Marvel is spreading as a cancer in comic world and destroying the creativity and liberty even in sci-fi cinema. Manga and superhero comics, with their hieratic, repetitive styles and stories are limiting and killing both comic and cinema, to make them a stereotyped homogeneous monotony of repeated motives, leaving only the small window of liberty of graphic novels, where also other stereotyped styles try to impose themselves. I'm sure that people would buy magazines such as this if they had just a 1 % of the marketing marvel or manga have

As a person who started reading Marvel and DC comics to later discover stories that came from magazines like Heavy Metal, 1984 or 2000AD that today seem to me much more interesting and disrutive than most of those two big publishers, I think you are absolutely right, thank you very much for the comment.
