Hi Polina 💖 I just wanted to tell you how much I love and appreciate your videos. I discovered your channel day before yesterday and you have been so helpful for how to attempt the paper and how to start the answers as well as the analyses, so thank you so so soo much for that. I have my paper 1 exam on 9th May and Paper 2 on 16th and I felt underprepared before because even with a really good teacher who I only found last month I thought I was going to fail. Because In my country only a few cities offer literature and even fewer have trained teachers I didn’t have a chance. So thank you so much for being so helpful. I hope you have a great day 💖💖

Hi Zoella! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I’m so glad I could help you. I wish you the best of luck with your examinations, and I’m sure that due to your hard work you will do better than you expect on the exams. I worried a lot, and felt underprepared as well, it’s normal, so don’t let it consume you. Good luck x

Also if it wouldn’t be too much of a bother I need your advice on do,etching. My teacher says when I’m writing answers for poems I write perfectly fine and formally, but when I write answers for plays and prose, despite using enhanced vocabulary, I fail to create a formal or assertive tone. So do you have any tips on how I can solve that issue?

@@zoellaadilkhan4929 I haven’t seen your work, so I can’t give very specific advice, but I can do my best to try and help you. Often people don’t sound assertive because they write things like “potentially portrays” or “perhaps a reference.” I’m not saying you should never write potentially or perhaps, these are words that you will naturally use, but try to not overuse them, and definitely do not write things like “maybe.” I know this may sound obvious, but I had a classmate who wrote that in her essays in GCSE, which honestly shocked me. Another tip would be that when you’re analyzing try your best to make your sentences to the point. This demonstrates, this shows, thus we can infer, and then your point. That sounds more assertive then if your sentence is waffling around one subject for like five minutes before making a statement. I’m sure you’ve done this already, but maybe ask your teacher to highlight specific sentences that don’t seem to be meeting the criteria, and if you still can’t figure out what’s wrong with those sentences, then try your best to avoid repeating them if you can next time. So like if a phrase that always comes up is “this can suggest…. “And you know that you’re likely to say something less formal or assertive after that, just try and rephrase it, or avoid using it. Hope this helps x

Thank you so much❣️ I looked through my previous answers and I realised that I do use perhaps and it seems like and similar unassertive terms. ( no idea how u knew that u must be psychic ). The story about your classmate reminds me of my cousin. She used to write “I think that…” in her answers. You’re also right about me using this can suggest too much 😅 Thank you so much for the help 🥰

hello ! My mocks are in a few days and I mostly revise by making plans for different questions. I watched your videos (which helped me so much btw thank you so much !!!) and you seem so good at that ! soo I was wondering if you could tell me what is good and what I would need to improve on or/and avoid during the exam. How does 'The forsaken wife' by Elizabeth Thomas portray resilience and dignity ? - The poem uses powerful and sharp diction that uses aggressive sound effects and punctuation to create an accusatory and defiant tone - The speaker uses powerful metaphors, comparing herself to unyielding forces and juxtaposing it with her husband's empty claims to showcase her strength and resilience in the face of heartbreak. - The poem's form mirrors the speaker's resolute stance, emphasising her unwavering defiance against betrayal. Thank youuuu

also di you think they could ask this kind of question ? : How does the power imbalance between the speaker and her husband contribute to the poem's overall message?

Hi! That's a good way to revise, but I would make sure you make more thematic plans as well:) I am very happy to have helped. I would say your plan is good (and reasonable given the time constraints,) however it lacks a bit of the focus on imagery, it focuses mainly on language. Try to link the powerful metaphors to the image it creates of 'the forsaken wife', and also link the comments on form to wider themes as a whole too, since examiners love to see it. In regards to your second question, I think it's a very specific question. It's very possible, but I haven't seen them go for these types of questions in a while. Revise just in case, but not the main point of revision? That would be my advise:)

Hi! Could you possibly provide me your email? As the exam is May 11th, and there are still a couple of poems left, I don't think I'll have time to film an additional video, however I can send you an essay I did and explain what was good and bad about it:)
