The guitarist in the centre was I guy called Glen Dale. When he was younger he had a group called Dickie Lee and the Travellers and based in Kent. My brother was in that group and they practicied at our house back in 1959/1960!!

Ringo should have taken lessons from their drummer. Listen to them do this live and you’ll see why. On this recording none of them played instruments. All session players. The live version is on here.

I was a teenager when this was released in 65. It was a favorite at sports night dances. Crazy thing about the Fortunes, their lyrics are sad but their melody is happy!

I remember hearing a poll taken in the 70’s that this recording was voted the best produced record of all time. I can’t imagine this recording being any better. It’s absolutely perfect.

Not sure about the Stereo mix, but it is pretty good stereo for that time. Kind of jolts you when they are singing the counterpart.

The Fortunes didn't have any after this hit. A well constructed song with great vocals.This was well up on the charts in October 64!

Actually they did! “Here it comes again” charted at number 27 in 1966. 1971 with Here comes that rainy Day feeling again reached 15. They released five singles that charted in the US and two albums, one of which reached 14th in sales in 1987 “the best of.”

A bygone era...when this was a hit, there were clubs all over town with live bands and dance floors...and the bands were playing real instruments...wearing show clothes...what a damn shame it's gone.

Ah yes, the year I graduated HS, just before my Uncle Sam called me away to do war. We were a generation most unprepared for what we were about to meet...America was scared for life and I think maybe cursed for ever. I alwasy felt that his song, with its title, pretty well defines us all today!

Brilliant. I was only 3 year's old when this song came out. Has I was growing up I was beginning to enjoy this song and all other songs of the 1960s. I still love all the song's. Are all the members of the fortunes still alive. I hope they have been placed in music hall of fame

I was a little kid when it came out. We lived way back in the boonies no neighbors for 1/2 mile & they were relatives. We had an old Philco radio(which I have it now). My Mom would turn it on so me & my sis could listen. Soooo many years ago. Best music.

Yes radio was VERY important during the sixties, especially the so called 'pirate stations'. How I miss those simple times, sitting around a small transistor radio on the beach, listening to all the tremedous music, drinking some beer and kissing the girls...

I was given a few 45 singles and a record player as a child. One of the records was this, I loved the chord progressions and the 'sound' so i played it and played it over and over (and got told off!) I was told to 'put other records on' LOL SUPERB song, AMAZING BAND.
