Excellent interview, and really great dialogue and conversation after the interview! I started using these podcast has my 5:00am compass to get my mind on track for the day, then I go get my workout in, and my mind and body is ready to attack the day! Our society certainly underestimates "perseverance." Most of us and I've been guilty of this in the past, have a couple of setbacks and game over on that endeavor. With the sport I've have been involved in for the last 5 years (and done well in) this last year, I have really focused on perseverance and doing everything I can make sure I am prepared for a race as I can be, how ever uncomfortable that is. The information I'm getting from these podcast, are to me like lighting the afterburners to take my thinking to the next level! One thing that has not been directly, but more indirectly talked about (in the podcast I've seen so far) is "energy". When I look around at our society, with the extreme problem with have with poor health habits, and the growing weight problem, is how to get people off the couch who have no energy to do anything? Physically it's tough to have that fire when one is 50, 100, 200+ pounds overweight! Getting people to take that first step, to them seems to be like in their mind like they are trying to jump over the Grand Canyon, when in reality that first step is really taking that 6 inch step their leg takes them to do something positive for their health. That first step seems to be more than half the battle. Great interview, what awesome accomplishments my Sternlicht has done and is still doing!

I've always admired this guy and loved his story. At one point he did one of his 1st major deals with billionair Sam Zell in the early 90's. I am sure he learned a ton from Sam who at one time was the largest landlord of apartments, offices, and mobile home parks in the US.

I like Barry. Even though he is a liberal, I think we'd get along famously.

He's not a liberal. he just wants others to be that way, like almost all liberals, but he lives differently.
