Great videos and clever psychological use use of the Daffy Duck silhouette to induce comment engagement. New subscriber.

Fantastic video, but just one small lil thing. That first silhouette was definitely Daffy Duck, not Donald Duck lol

Find out your channel today, I always end up losing myself into practice; but I’ll use your suggestion of stickying to figure drawing and volume for one year and try to improve in it; I also paint digitally to relax on the side but is good tactic to study shapes in different way

Tom's books good, but there's a bit of his anatomy that's just downright wrong (the hands and feet for example). Early on he shows us a way to simplify the heads (by using a very complex amount of planes) but then abandons it, clearly not confident in his own method. The book WILL help beginners though if it's paired with other works and self research.

Yeah I totally get what you mean and I praise you for throwing it out there. I can feel as if you're swearing in church saying something like this. But I totally agree. I think Tom's method is a great way of understanding the steps to drawing complex forms and even build 'realistic' figures. But sometimes I get caught up in the rules too much and I wonder 'am I studying to get better' or 'am I studying for the sake of studying'. Sometimes it is the second one, and I don't like that honestly. I wanna focus more on expressing myself. Great comment though!

@@thedrDraw His mannequin method is amazing and a lot more fluid that I find Loomis' to be though. It'll really help someone who's a bit stuck or clueless to understand how to simplify the body using shapes.
