The samurai warrior depicted on Camille's kimono is Miyamoto Musashi (see Wikipedia) and it's unlikely that his mug was ever on a kimono of the period. His image was common in stylized Japanese painting, but not printed on silk...for women.

For context, Japan was forced to open trade by US Navy General Perry who showed up with 10 war ships and 1500 men.

Ok: Americans killed and dislocated millions of Native Americans taking their lands. British killed off millions of Indians by stealing their resources 2 times. Yet we’re so petty we’ll protest a European painting of a cultures attire that a European lady wore. Do something useful like protesting the injustices of capitalism, shrinking wages, rising housing costs, wealthy robbing the American people and keeping them in poverty. Much more interesting and much more useful. Unfortunately our worship of some things like capitalism at all costs makes us ignore the truly very important issues of the day. AND THIS PAINTING IS NOT ONE OF THOSE ISSUES PEOPLE SHOULD EVEN THINK TWICE ABOUT!!!!!
