Agreed. The reality is (and a lot of Punk fans and Punk himself are too proud to admit this) that no one person is bigger than the company. I truly believe there was a part of Punk that felt bitter that business went along as normal without him. The MJF/Cole friendship was the hottest thing going before Cole got hurt. I recall their match against FTR doing a big number for Collision and to my memory Punk wasn't even on that show. Punk took jabs at Hangman after one of those shows but Hangman didn't care. Neither did the Bucks. His ego couldn't stand that there was another roster of people on a show that wanted nothing to do with him or cared about him. Ziggler's brother was right. CM Punk was the reason I started watching AEW, and once he was gone, I stopped. Then I started again once Collision started. It was awesome when Punk was around. It had a good, old school wrestling show feel to it, and Punk’s matches with Starks, Kojima, and Joe were some of my favorites… Then Jack Perry had to be a mark and intentionally provoke the biggest hothead in the locker room on the biggest show in AEW history, and everything fell apart again. I’m not gonna say Punk was 100% innocent in all the drama, because he wasn’t. He’s a hothead, no question, but he did try to resolve things with The Elite, but they acted like children instead of EVPs, constantly avoiding him, and then the BS with Perry happened. Ever since Punk got fired, Collision just feels like any other AEW show, which to me is basically All Friends Wrestling.

@DeadmanInc336

My guy, the Bucks simply didn't trust him. Think about it. First, Punk publicly dragged their names through the mud over baseless accusations and unfounded allegations. Allegations that the this day there's ZERO proof backing up what Punk was accusing the Bucks of doing. And then when they took him up on his offer to go talk to him ("If you have a fucking problem with me! Come see me! Let's fucking go!"), he physically assaulted them backstage in the presence of the head of AEW's head of Legal and the #2 in the company Megha Parekh and Christopher Daniels who heads Talent Relations. So I don't blame the Bucks one bit for letting lawyers deal with Punk. They simply don't trust him, man. That's what this all boils down to: trust. And unfortunately Punk proved with his PREMEDITATED tantrum at the media scrum that he can't be trusted. For the record; I am not defending the Bucks because they showed piss-poor judgement when they went to seek out Punk when he is clearly extremely irritable and confrontational. They should have thought about it twice, let HR handle Punk, wait a few days when cooler heads can prevail, and then try again later. Because guess what? Had they thought about it twice, Omega wouldn't have been dragged into this nonsense. Especially since he was seemingly the only one trying to keep things from blowing up. He and Punk even hashed it out afterwards and Punk even told him he never had issues with Omega to begin with.

I don't really like Punk, but AEW was very stupid letting him go. They should've fired Jungle Boy instead. He's the one that started that whole incident. Punk did alot of great things in AEW (mostly behind the scenes) and he had them going in the right direction. Andrade, Miro & Juice Robinson were booked much better. All 3 were going nowhere up until AEW created Collision for Punk & Punk had them booked strong. Now all Andrade and Miro are just there and Juice is nothing more than a mascot for Bullet Club Gold. Ricky Starks was finally gaining momentum and being elevated into a main event level star/legit world title contender. Now he's in the tag team division, which is very weak and irrelevant at the moment btw, with Morrisey as 1/2 of the AEW World Tag Team Champions. Lastly, AEW was finally on the verge of a much needed hard brand split that would immediately improve and solve the booking problem, but now the idea is scrapped and AEW is back to being a bush league, public access tv style wrestling promotion.

He then assaulted people backstage, went into business for himself by taking up precious unplanned TV time to call out somebody who wasn't even at the building over something from 3 months ago, started barring people from showing up to work, once again picked a fight, and then allegedly tried to attack his boss. I wasn't a fan of CM Punk's run in AEW. It felt like he was trying to be a face when he was a heel and that seemed true to the point of the end. The fact he called himself the real world championship while still being a face screams "My ego won't let me be booed".

Sad he got fired but he needed to keep his ego in check he wanted to police people around he’s not the boss or an agent to tell the boys and girls what to or not do he cause this on himself u have a problem u talk to the promoter u don’t take action on your own hands or cause fights u go and talk the issue out Punk though just cause he’s a veteran can go and police people around that’s not how it works u are a wrestler and can be replaced anytime he learned that the hard way and he got replaced with Edge u go and wrestle and make money the business it’s full of egos he needed to keep his in check

I kinda considered the wrestler imitations part of the fun side of his gimmick...Like, he's having fun being in a spot someone like him should never have been in, statistically...Also, a tad bit of light mockery if heel, homage if face...Bit Punkish...It's also something he's allowed to do that looks pretty good with or without the PG Limits...

Its easy to explain why you liked the forbidden door match. It is two of the best og all time telling a story in a match with perfect basics and solid selling being aware of their own age limitations. They just proof you dont need build you dont need to many spots at this point in their career. It just feels good because it has no weak points. The drama is unfortunate and i dont really care who thinks they are right and why i just wanted to see more matches like this one.

If Punk was going to homage the Harts with all his wrestling gear, she should of gone all the way with the singlet plus pants combo Bret always wore. It would better disguise Punk's horrible physique and somewhat hide that he doesn't remotely look like an athlete.

Punk crapped on Hangman for his toy sales. That’s a VERY WWE thing. Toys were a big Vince initiative in the 80s. Dude isn’t the Indy underdog. Like he told Cena “You’re not the Red Sox, you’re the thing you hate. You’re the New York Yankees.”

No one is ever going to pay to watch the Bucks, or Jungle Boy wrestle. Tony Khan was stupid to make active wrestlers, executives. Punk made money, so Punk gets more of a say. Could you imagine Bischoff just firing Hogan right after Starcade 1997? People can only buy so many NWO, and Outsiders shirts

Not as much cash per match this time for Punk. Last time, he got enough money that AJ Lee got a good Christmas gift. After this second run, Punk probably got some good Halloween candy. On another note, it's nice to see Starks used with a lot names in the last year. Guy's set for a good contract somewhere
