This is the story of Joe Rogan before he was famous.
Unknown to most, Rogan actually made a first attempt at hosting his own radio show in 2004, during the Fear Factor years. Due to his extremely busy schedule however,
nothing came of this attempt.
Concentrating so heavily on film and acting left Rogan feeling uninspired to work on his true passion, comedy. And with the money he had already earned from his television
ventures, he hired to full time people to film him and his comedy friends on tour. Releasing clips on his website for the new JoeShow series.
In 2005 he would sign a deal with the Endeavor Talent Agency and two months later would film the comedy special Joe Rogan: Live in Phoenix Arizona with a large premier on
the Showtime network two years later in 2007.
Rogan would follow this comedic tour until 2009, when he would host the short-lived CBS series "Game Show in My Head" which only aired eight episodes. A simple show which
explored the limits people would place themselves under for an ever increasing cash prize. Rogan called this venture "a completely mindless form of entertainment" and in 2011
he would return to Fear Factor to film its final season.
In December of 2009 Rogan would launch his free podcast with Brian Redban, a friend and fellow comedian. By August 2010 the podcast would be named the Joe Rogan Experience
and evntered the list of Top 100 podcasts on iTunes.
In 2011 the podcast would be picked up by SiriusXM Radio, featuring a wide array of guests to discuss current events, politics, philosophy, MMA, comedy and more!
By January 2015 The Joe Rogan Experience had reached over 11 million downloads, jumping quickly as only a few months later it would reach 16 million downloads. Making it one
of the most popular free podcasts in existence.
After wrestling with his main streaming service KZitem, Rogan would sign a 200 million dollar deal with Spotify in 2020, one of the largest licensing agreements in the
podcast world.
From "scratching and grinding" to survive, Joe Rogan was now a multimillionaire podcast host with notoriety in both the acting and commentating world as well.
He became a co-founder of Onnit, the supplement and fitness company and occassionally advertises the brand on his podcast. While Rogan often finds himself at the center
of widespread controversy, millions of individuals tune in each week to hear the intriguing, exciting, and often far-from-center discussions that occur live on air.
