Love the video. The format. The added graphics, excellent sound. Great video, Sandro. This towel looks like, as others have said, the Rag Company towel, which was derived from Optimum's Ultra Clay Towel. If similar to those, I absolutely agree with you. Such a great towel. Foaming is good. I also like spraying iron remover (Ferrex) into it directly. Saves me a ton of product that way vs spraying the paint.

Additionally, your style of presenting and your calm voice are like a chill therapy for me. Thanks for creating this content. I’m not a detailer, i just enjoy taking care of my car. Or is this best to go to someone who does it professionally? Thanks!
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
Жыл бұрын
I appreciate that and it’s my pleasure mate. Periodic claying is vital to remove contamination that would otherwise degrade car paint, it also has the advantage of allowing car waxes and sealant to bond more successfully and last longer to protect your car paint better. In most cases clay marring is quite minimal if done correctly and no more visible than light washing swirls or haze. I would say try it yourself, worst case scenario is that it does cause some minor marring that a very fine polishing stage will easily remove - any pro detailer with even minimal polishing experience can address that easily.

@CarCraftAutoDetailing
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and claying can cause some micro marring especially if you have a soft paint which is why a light polish is recommended afterwards but also not mandatory. If I couldn’t polish I’d still tend to clay because it is very beneficial to the paints health to remove that contamination which degrades car paint over time. If you don’t have a machine polisher, try using something like Autoglym Super Resin Polish by hand, it’s very easy to use and should clean up any clay marring and improve the look of the paint. kzitem.info/news/bejne/kWuOsYSjnX6HqGU

Keith Olsen, I know, it;s been a year.... :) What you have to do when you have no "visual" like the claybar surface, is to work that section of the panel, carefully wipe it or blot the moisture off, and run your clean, dry, hand over that section.. Do you feel the little irregularities on it?? If so, you need to over it again.... I posted at the top of this video some other info that will also help you do this most essential step before paint correction, and then your LSP, etc...

I've been using synthetic clay for about a year or so and I love it. What really sets this stuff apart from traditional clay is that you can drop it on the ground! With synthetic clay, the particles don’t so much bond to the clay, they get suspended in the clay lubricant so you rinse them off the car along with the panel, but yes you can also just rinse the clay in a bucket or with a hose or pressure washer to remove any particles on the actual clay.

Sandro, mate it sounded like its was overspray or something like that, i have sprayed Iron remover on my car especially on the front bar and the top of the bonnet and nothing no reaction at all, no purple marks or droplets at all, even behind the wheels on the painted surfaces ,nothing at all, maybe because i keep it clean most of the time and yes i do drive the car in the wet and in traffic? Still i wonder how bowdens 3 in 1 products will be reviewed as that is supposed to be a iron and wax remover and decon all in the one product? Also sandro just asking i think checkered or weave type clothes are great for cleaning glass and also any glass cleaning towels must be new even if you wash then the soap used still leaves a residue thus you have minor haze in the glass, i remember using metho and newspaper to clean the glass on my VB SLE and also the XB GT?

In my first experience with clay bar: 9 hours and thousands of small scratch... I want this!

Wow. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to clay an entire car.

@@mr.monitor. My first experience and without chemical decontamination . I don't have a box that my car is a fallout catastrophe. I wouldn't use clay, infact, in my last experience I used only chemical decontamination and after a soft polishing. I think that I'm not very able with clay.

@@fernandoarno52 oh yeah that's no fun. If it's a beat up vehicle with no maintenance you must decontaminate wash and use iron remover before you can use the clay bar. Quick light movement, work small areas and don't over do it. Buy the more expensive clays not Chinese Amazon stuff.

@@mr.monitor. I used Meguiar's clay kit for my first experience.

@@fernandoarno52 that is definitely a cheap clay in those kits. I love the brand and the fact they have retail car owners getting into detailing their own cars and for a great price but you won't see pros using that cheap yellow smears all over the place unless the paint is already perfect 😅

I clayed my SSV yesterday with an older style bar, was awful. My hands still hurt!
