It def runs great. But I think it ought to have a bit more RPM than it does for the #'s it has. I think the carb or timing is holding it back. Imma keep playing with it to see if I can get em up a bit.

@@dubbssawshopany way to hook one of the big tillotson carbs for an 070/090 to it? Air flow wouldnt be an issue then.

Did you move Ex. For 100 to 94 ? Great job by the way👍🏼

Well, the original build was at 100°, I forgot after Sawfest last year I went back in it and changed it to 98°, then back in again to a 94° and never wrote it down. So that's where it's staying at for now. It needed a really good timing advance. Now she rips. 👍🏻

Have you done any reading about squish band area relative to desired rpm? I think that will be my next area of exploration.

I haven't, I have been wanting to try a taper chamber and piston. Best luck I've had to is with a stepped chamber, cut that .020" step in the 5000+ and that seemed to be right on the money.

Thats interesting Dave. Fwiw, if you decide to do a video about that id be happy to give it a view and thumbs up. Guessing it has to do with optimizing flame front speed?

@@AndyAlaska375yep, there is a lot of info out there on it already. I'm working on a long video about stuff like that but just been pinched for time lately.

@@dubbssawshopi think the step in the chamber kinda does the same thing as making the band narrower. The taper i think just directs charge that gets squished more towards the plug, maybe gives a better angle for flame front to travel and exhaust scavenging? I think i will play with band width before playing with taper angles.
