On the 4th July 1946 on Biskupia Gorka Hill in Gdansk, a number of brutal and barbaric concentration camp guards were executed. This included a number of female guards such as Jenny Wanda Barkmann, and the executions were performed in front of huge crowds. But the gallows created for these executions were specifically made with a number of things in mind. They were huge to give the crowd a good view, and there were many who opposed these executions because of the public nature of them. But the authorities wanted to show that after World War 2, justice was being administered.
