I think you overlooked the usefulness of rapid trigger, for basically any rhythm game that uses keyboard tapping, being able to tap quicker then what your actuation point allows can save you from missing a note in so many situations and is a major bonus for this keyboard.

I'm sorry, I don't know how you can review this board and only mention Rapid Trigger in passing (less than 10 seconds). The ability to remove input _immediately_ when the finger is lifted is completely transformative for FPS games. The most important aspect of the analog switch that is not talked about enough is not the granular input. It's actually the fact that the switch stops actuating IMMEDIATELY when you let go, no matter what height you are pressing at the time. That migth sound like a small thing, but in competitive games like Valorant where your aim immediatly resets to pinpoint accuracy when you are not moving this can actually make a big difference versus a traditional switch since you can stop your strafe faster than your oppopent and go for the headshot.

That key push release being not requiring a full release is very similar to how a good trigger is in a nice handgun (please save the politics for yourself, I'm Canadian, I just really like putting holes in paper). They call it break or reset point, but basically after the first pull you only have to release the trigger a little tiny bit for reset. It's massive improvement over a full release type, for much quicker follow up shots. So I can see on certain games/situations this keyboard could provide a huge advantage!

The extra screws are for screwing in the PCB into 3rd party cases that offer additional mounting spots. The plate should never be changed since anything softer than the stock steel plate will mess with the precision of the adjustable activation distance. The review is also really out of touch when it comes to how the community actually uses this board; maybe 2 out of 100 users have ever used it to emulate a joystick. The reason for almost everybody getting this board is for the rapid trigger capability and the ability to choose your own activation points per-key, all the way up to 0.1 mm. Also, 1 ms response time is insane, and there is no faster keyboard on the market. Only using the analog switches to play Forza is the most boomer way possible of testing such an insane FPS board.

I tested it with my apex pro and its worse than even razers update. Wooting is still much better for adjustability and sensitivity.

No offense but I don't understand how you can skip over rapid trigger so fast(again) and then default to racing games(again) to test the boards features. Yes it's analog, yes it's better than a digital keyboard for racing but that's not why people are falling over eachother buying it: it's the rapid trigger feature in shooters/fighting games/rhythm games. I feel like these and other 'gaming' pheripherals reviews would be done more justice if someone that was more interested/knowledgeable about competitive gaming would take a look at them. I'm disappointed that this has been the second time a keyboard with rapid trigger has passed the revue on this channel and for the second the time the essense of why this board is so popular in competitive circles has been completely missed.

It seems like the reason why these popular products get chosen to be unboxed is not properly conveyed to the Short Circuit team. Clearly the script writer and host don't know why this keyboard is chosen for a spotlight. They just look at the marketing materials (which originally emphasized analog input for driving) and call it a day. The whole process behind Short Circuit is lazy and of a lower quality than the other LMG channels. Quite frustrating.

I'd like to see them get a cheap mechanical board and show us all how to make it better with cheap mods. There are a lot of pretty good starting points out there these days that you can get for less than $40...and many of them are hot swappable, some have optical switches, which have fewer options, but are a tad bit faster for gaming. Just would be nice to see a big channel like this showing people how they can get into the hobby, or just get a decent mech board compared to the membrane ones a lot of people are still using, without having to spend $100+ (sorry, but with inflation, poverty, etc, that's just a lot of money for many of us...but we might be able to scrape together $50 for a starter board and some cheap modding supplies)

Do we get a 2 minute review of the instruction pamphlet in this unboxing too? Oh, we're going to call a QR code gatekeeping, then not even follow the link, then proceed to guess at everything? Must be a Plouffe review. Spent 4 minutes talking about the LEDs but doesn't bother to mention that the LEDs are not covered by the 4 year warranty. "I've never wanted a feature more" followed directly by "but I don't know if I'd ever use it" This is absolute fluff. What happened to that testing lab? Keyboard machine broke? These are the least informational videos LTT does. 12 minutes of nothing. Can we please start holding these keyboard videos to the same level of quality as the rest of LTT?

while analog switch sound awesome in theory, but almost all the games doesnt work, cos they only register keystrokes, ie when it activate, not actually binding the axis, some games allow you to bind axis instead of keystrokes, and only those game works, which is why im really skeptical about analog keyboard

It's the classic chicken and egg situation. Keyboards don't have it because games don't support it. And games don't have it, because keyboards don't have it. In the games where it works, it really works great - Overwatch 2 is a great example of full support.

he tries really hard to convince me that a keyboard that lacks absolutely everything but nice switches, is a good gaming keyboard. "if you want analog switches, this is one of your only options if not your only option"-- just wanted to point out Steelseries Pro keyboards also have hall effect (analog) switches, both in full size and mini (60%) configs, as well as wired/wireless. The Apex Mini Pro, 60% wired, with analog switches, is currently (and frequently) available at 139USD. Not to say the Wooting doesn't look cool as hell and like a solid buy as well. Though admittedly I do prefer the Steelseries design of the flat keybed and raised keys personally. The somewhat exposed switches and greater ease of dusting without the surrounding walls both looks nice and is convenient, I think.

@TheVenerableMrKrieg

@@Definitely_Melnyx I'm not sure of the full list of features for the Wooting, but I'm even more unsure what the Steelseries might be missing by comparison. I don't _think_ the Pro boards have onboard memory, so that's one downside if you intend to travel with your keyboard/use it like a hitbox, but otherwise all the usual features like double actuation points, analog input, actuation depth, etc, are there. If you've got another specific feature in mind, though, I'd be happy to check mine.
