I got one of those sanders to use on the bandsaw when I'm re-sawing to keep my fingers safe. I love Lidl's measuring tools. Great value for money. The clamps in this/last weeks selection are really sturdy & have nice big clamping surfaces & are really easy to use one handed. The three year warranty is great as every now & then they do put out some dodgy gear. They've never quibbled & have always refunded or exchanged.

Hi Rooster. I got the clamps too...but lost the footage of them or I would have included them. They are great so far

Great video as usual. I had a Black and decker work mate, purchased in about 1978. It served me well. (I did replace a few parts on it)It is now being used by my son in law. He did replace the wooden jaws. The current models are nowhere near the same quality.

Robert I couldn't agree more. You do get what you pay for with products like this. I am currently thinking of making one as a video for the channel

Hello fellow woodworker! Great video as always. I’ve been watching the Garage Workshop for a while and finally got sorted with an account to be able to subscribe - so you’re now up to 374 subscribers. I too started woodworking a few years ago and have slowly been building up my tool collection - mainly from Lidl, but I did buy the Ferrex Bandsaw from Aldi a few months ago and have found it to be a fantastic piece of kit. It’s almost as good as the Parkside Track saw I bought from Lidl around 5 years ago (which, by the way I 100% agree with you is my most useful tool). The rubber edges of the tracks are a bit degraded now which means it might not be ‘true’, but if it hadn’t been for the track saw, everything I have built so far would have been slightly off straight (or slightly more off-straight than it sometimes is anyway!). The bandsaw is fantastic and has made me consider selling my Titan Table Saw which I’ve never quite gotten to grips with despite having had it for over two years. I have watched several table saw safety and usage videos and even replaced the blade, but I can’t get past the fact that I find the table saw terrifying to use! Before I go, I just wondered whether you bought the new Parkside quick release clamps that are in Lidl this week. Like me, you probably have several quick release clamps already, but I was intrigued by the new design, although not intrigued enough to buy them this time around but wondered if you had bought them along with the other items. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the lathe project. I bought the Parkside lathe in 2020 and although I think it’s VERY underpowered, I managed to make my first (small) bowl. Unfortunately it’s been back in the box for almost a year as other projects have meant I haven’t been able to use it. Time allowing I’m going to try again this summer. Apologies for the lengthy comment - when I get started on woodworking and Parkside tools I forget when to stop!

Hi AT. Thanks for the comment and wow what a similar journey you have had. I did get the quick release clamps this week and was going to put them in the video but the footage wasn't great and I wanted to keep the time down so left them out. I agree that the lathe is underpowered and I hope for the projects I want I will be able to cope with what it has in terms of power. Please keep watching and commenting it's much appreciated!

I agree about the table saws. Although I had one for a few years, I was never 'comfortable' with it. My Makita plunge saw and track, with MFT gives superb accuracy. I do have an Axminster band saw, and am happy using that.

@@roberthunt4937 I am currently thinking of an MFT top. Would you recommend one?

@@roberthunt4937 I had to look up what a MFT was and to be honest I’m still a bit confused what I would use it for. It seems to be a worktop with pre-drilled holes for clamping with a track saw track attached? Any usage videos you would recommend? I tried searching for a video but KZitem is awash with videos for how to make your own MFT, but not many for why someone might need one.
