This was such a relatable video. The part where women get asked out and where people go around dropping slurs was just so true because I see it everyday. I've once been in one of those groups, the Imperial Guard of the French Empire. All I've seen there was a competition set up by the superiors in order to acquire promotions and medals. It opened my eyes as to the true purpose of those groups: to perpetuate themselves on the social craving of teenagers. No wonder we come to such extremes, the social pressure makes us tolerate and perpetuate actions that are purely based upon social acceptance (within this little microcosm) rather than morality. Many people join these groups out of lack of better social interaction, and if that's their condition to be accepted, they'll take it. Sometimes those snowball effects tend to take place, that's why some people within those groups NEED to take responsibility and act upon it.

It's kinda weird. I was parented enough to where I understand the difference between jokes and actually believing in something. But, I also know that other people have different circumstances and they might genuinely start believing something if it's said enough. So, I think it's about personal responsibility in not perpetuating bad ideals in the wrong circumstances.

i'm not a millarper but i was in a roleplay community for a while i'm a trans individual but i stopped telling people ages ago: the first thing that happened after me and some people had an argument is that i was outed to a fair portion of the community for them to call me slurs it's nice to see a youtuber actually talk about the affects and issue that a lot of communities have. the reason i stopped telling people i was trans is that the MOMENT i did, i'd get misgendered even by people who were 'fully accepting' and hadn't even known i was trans imo a large issue within communities (both larping and roleplaying, since a lot of that crosses over) is that the main playerbases are (as cringe as it sounds) cis heterosexual teenaged boys it's easy to start emulating that type of humor when you're around it a lot, it's easy to adopt a clique mentality, especially online. however i honestly think that moderation is the biggest issue - mainly when communities dont take out of community behaviour as valid issues in certain cases. if you're (out of the server) making a joke to a friend, that shouldn't be used against you, but if you're (again, out of the server) saying hateful shit you should probably recieve punishments in those communities in one case, a person sent gore of transgender people being beaten, or harming themselves, to a gc specifically because i was in it and had voiced discomfort with them saying anti-trans things. i was told that was just humor / it was out of the server, so there was nothing they could do oddly enough despite now being a guy i also find misogyny to be an actual issue. whilst im not a larper, in some roleplaying communities i've genuinely seen women be told their characters are automatically weak, or straight up be ignored when their character lands a blow, or just shrugged off. i had a female character be literally whiteknighted by a man so hard i had to go ooc to ask him to please stop because my character couldn't do anything without that man jumping in to protect her, in one case whilst i was ic as a female character someone threatened to oocly sa me and a moderator straight up told me that "saying lewd things to minors is not noncing" and that it was "not even that deep" i remember in 2019 (when i was eleven) i was a thirlcrest academy player. jesus christ the misogyny was wild i straight up saw a female clique leader disposed of and my character was sexually assaulted. they knew i was 11 i was not quiet about it it was a big issue where female clique leaders would just kind of get undermined or ignored for a while, unsure if it happens now because i dont touch academy games overall, moderation is kind of where these problems start: if your moderators don't decide to crack down on hateful activity it just grows and festers in your community until you can't really stop it (likely because the moderators also have those kind of views) tldr: moderation bad = issue big i don't really understand it tbh because i think roblox larping, roleplaying, etc is instantly a pretty gay activity i cant lie its kinda gayer than straight up going into a gay bar

this is why roleplay groups like these are destined to fail, you can't mock anyone, jokes are taken seriously and people don't understand how these behaviours affect teamwork. Hopefully lego milsim exists. Anyway I didn't get the message you wanted to send with this video, what's the message you want to send?
@Liodite

I think the message generally is call out people for their actions at the time instead of just sitting and being complicit. I think doing that would go a long way and actually show people that you care plus help end the problem at it’s roots.

This is irrelevant from the video but can I get a tip for making good commentary cause it sees kind of cheap to look up jokes for the video so how are you able to keep up with such good commentary for the video. Seems like you have joke after joke. (Besides a script) - Thanks
@Liodite
Жыл бұрын
Well, yeah - I do script these and that's purely because otherwise I'll completely lose track. But, my honest advice is just get a rough script done. Physically say it out loud first and hear yourself, just make sure everything comes out as it should. Smoothly, if you will. Like, I've read lines and been like "wait, I'd never say that." So, try and fix those lines up if you can. Also, the jokes just kinda flow out sometimes. Sometimes there's no jokes and it's purely just informational. Nonetheless, try to not take yourself so seriously when scripting. Another thing, EMPHASIZE! What I've learned to do, especially because I use Notepad to script, is to start capitalizing words as a means to force me to emphasize. Don't rely on memory to try because it does not work half the time. Emphasizing words helps. For example, in this video - when I was talking about the message I was sent; I emphasized the words "NO WHERE." So, it came out as "Out of NO WHERE, I got a message..." Keep that in mind. Separate sentences. I think this is important because it may look easy to read a full paragraph when you're typing it, but when you get down to it - your brain is much better at reading separate sentences. Shift + enter. Last thing that I can really think of is just to BREATH. I have a lot to say at all times and that's partly my ADHD, but I will genuinely forget to breath. So, while it may seem like a cool concept to speak a paragraph in one breath; it will not sound good afterwards. Also, don't try and read as fast as I do. When I started, I started pretty slow and worked my way up to reading faster. Some people don't enjoy it, others do. Regardless, focus on pronouncing your words correctly and just try to have fun with it. That's about it. Don't take yourself so seriously and jokes should come your way. What I've also noticed is that scripts are good for someone like me with reactionary humor (humor that requires another person to work) because my brain is less like 1 voice and more like 5 at once. The very best, Liodite Business.
