I have had TMD for ten years since I was 18. I went to a jaw specialist/surgeon when it started and he gave me excercises that never worked. I watched your video on TMD and what you were explaining made perfect sense and opposite to what was prescribed to me. I instantly starting mewing religiously and mouth taping. The first 3 days were hard. Now been mewing for a week and I can open my mouth wide open without any popping that I have had constantly for 10 years! I am astonished how quickly the jaw adjusts. Thousand thanks and go kick their miserable asses in court. The truth is on your side. You are doing real work. Update after 4 months: I was reflecting too soon. It still clicked back then when I really opened my mouth (f.e. eating a hot dog). But the range had improved and I felt comfortable biting together. The jaw surgeon wanted me to open my mouth out of the click and move my lower jaw out and to alignment exercises. That made me afraid of keeping my teeth together inside the click. But as I continued to mew the "inside the click" range got better. The click sometimes happened on the opposite side (never happened before) as it is adapting. It gets gradually better and better and its night and day difference now compared to before. Not totally gone but its getting there. Quality of life improved considerably.

Even me at 66 years old, with misaligned TMJ including one with almost totally destroyed condyle, osteoarthritis, asymmetrical and blocked mandible up to 2 cm, no more teeth..... I shower only on the non-osteoarthritic side, strengthening exercises and massages, wash only on the healthy side, and above all for 15 days I have been practicing correct swallowing at all times, and now I can open my mouth 3.5 cm… without teeth ! It's extraordinary ! Thank you Dr. Mew! With you from France! ❤️👋😀

I would be genuinely curious to hear about the prosecution side's arguments. Their underlying assumptions haven't been questioned for a century at this point and I would be curious whether they could even make an argument that goes beyond simply stating that "there is no evidence". Not to mention how on earth they would justify forbidding Mike from practicing on the grounds of it being "unnecessary treatment" when there's plenty of unnecessary treatment going on everywhere that's far more harmful and intrusive. Of course, I suspect the results of this won't really depend on whose argument is better or who has more evidence.

The terrible thing about this is how the practical application of the legal system has a human cost beyond the theoretical intent. You can easily sit back and say "mewing and traditional orthodontics fought it out in court and mewing (hopefully) proved its legitimacy and established a new route forward, therefore it was the right venue to formally determine this" but it completely misses the fact that any court proceeding has a huge financial and emotional burden on the person involved, and therefore it is not a fair environment to test competing ideas.

Are people sueing him over mewing technique/theory. That is so silly. I have seen photos of people. The changes are amazing. They are not just the before and after, but all the photos in between. Unless those people did multiple surgeries over that period of time, I think the result speaks for themselves. It doesn't hurt anyone using mewing technique.

Well hopefully all of that evidence will make for an easy court case. It's not fair to go after someone like this when they can actually back up what they say, regardless of whether it goes against what is currently scientifically "known".

Mike, did you try to quantitize your research? I mean, turning your observations into numbers as much as possible? Example: after watching dozens of your research, my suspiction is that jaw size (maxilla and therefore mandible) should be determined by tongue size. It seems that tongue width is rather constant (determined by genetics) and this influence inter moral width (tongue on roof, teeth „position” themselves around tongue on roof which determines jaw size. If you measured people tongue, inter moral width, certain jaw aspects (angle etc) and rate it using your expertise (perfect cranofacial shape - 1, middle - 0.5, terrible - 0) etc you could run basic statistical methods like linear regression in Matlab, R, python or even Excel, or more sophisticated machine learning if you team up with statisticans.
