this is actually the norm in much of the rest of the world to measure by weight rather than by volume. it prevents issues like packing flour or not removing every last bit of air from shortening or lard. FWIW I'm an American Thai spent 7 years in Europe. kitchen scales are very inexpensive and well worth the cost when it comes to more finicky recipes

Those are Cathedral Window bars, from the 1960's, back when everyone owned Jell-O molds and the "Joys of Jell-O" cookbook and actually used them. This might be fun to make with the kids or just to be retro. Instead of her nonsensical ingredients and measurements for the cream mixture, try 1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream, 1 1/2 cups warmed pineapple juice or apple juice, 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk, and 4 packets Knox unflavored gelatin.

This reminds me of my childhood. In the 60s and 60s, jello deserts were popular. Jello was mixed with fruit, pineapple, bananas, cherries, walnuts, cream cheese, whipped cream, etc. I loved them and I'm glad to see they're making a comeback.

yes a few colors in USA are banned in Europe, but every color is available using different recipe. European foods use European authorized colors. in fact i think less than 10% of USA allowed colors are banned in Europe ... SO, NO THE RECIPE IS 100% LEGAL IN EUROPE

@poppykok5 There is absolutely no reason for cream cheese. It's just SuperYummy doing superyummy things. in tomorrow's recipe, she'll add the same "cream cheese" but she'll call it heavy cream and then the next time she might call it yogurt.

this actually something that looks similar to a dessert i've had at parties, I'm Hispanic and I only ever see this at Hispanic grocery stores/parties. Not sure if she made it right per day but it is on big gelatin dessert with the clear jello cubes and a more creamy jello base surrounding them.

Lol I think we all know what this is a play on, they still sell this in the stores in flavors, if you are a kid of the 70s, you know what, I’m talking about that came molded in rings or a big square container in a few different flavors. You sometimes got this as a special treat along with ice cream and, popsicles and, pudding if you were laid up in bed for days because, you were either sick or because, you were recovering from a surgery!

This is from or very similar to the original Jell-o cookbook in the 50's. I believe this recipe was called royal crown or crown jewels and used a circular jello mold so it looked like a crown

First off terminologies here refrigerators, do not freeze number one number two milk does not come in pounds Jell-O does not harden, it gels. I wonder if this could be done with sugar-free Jell-O? Because the milks generally do not have that much sugar in them, but They could.

For the jello, next time try this: layered jello. You pour thin layers let it solidify and then pour a different color on top and let that one solidify. Repeat as many times as you want.

This recipe is legit. There are a few steps, but if you want the rainbow effect, it is necessary. I’ve seen it done in only one color with the cream. They need to just throw us the metric measurements, and let us convert them, because they’re not great at making them make sense. Lol

So gelatin is a protein obtained by boiling skin, tendons, ligaments, and/or bones with water. It is usually obtained from cows or pigs. I’ll give it a miss thanks

Just take pounds and swap for cups and you can make this recipe. The only one that is slighlty confusing is the box of condensed milk and i think it was meant to be 1 can.
