I finished watching this series the other day, and wow - I absolutely loved it. I honestly thought that it would focused a lot on just eating different monsters, meeting new people, making friends, etc. And while that is all true, I did not expect the dark turns that this series took. I am so glad that it was already announced that we will be getting a second season at some point :) Depending on how long it takes to get a second season, I may give in and read the manga… we will have to see 🤣😂 That was a good video, though!

For what it's worth... the manga is *ridiculously* good. I finished it two weeks ago and can't stop thinking about it. Won't spoil anything for you, just letting you know it gets absolutely HUGE and bonkers.

@@jz-meister5343 manga has the advantage of seeing the extras. small peeks into the author's thoughts as she crafts the world. Don't worry about the adaptation getting spoiled, DinD is one of those properties which compel you to consume both the manga and anime.

As someone said once. Dungeon meshi is just made in abyss for normies.

You are wrong and whoever said this is wrong. They may have the same elements of delving deeper and surviving but they’re completely different otherwise. Anyways, at least the mangaka of Dunmeshi, Ryoko Kui, isn’t borderline pedophile. (Unlike a certain someone…)

I prefer the term " more palatable".

"for normies" As a fan of both, I am offended. Both manga have beautiful and expansive world building, and both touch on some dark and heavy subject matters. MiA is just way less subtle about it and 40% of it is suffering porn. As much as I love it MiA has some tonal issue and the borderline pedo stuff doesn't help. DM is a beautiful journey from start to finish, and the author achieved it without compromising any character's agency. Also she didn't need ages to release a chapter.

- Made in abyss is darker than Dungeon Meshi - Yes - Made in abyss is better than Dungeon Meshi - Not really * If your term "normie" means that DM is less dark than MIA then yes, but for the setting i have to say DM is better .

No yeah I totally see where you're coming with this. Tonally they're very similar, Especially once Dunmeshi gets into its endgame with the Lion
