Featured is the game between Mikhail Tal and Alexander Tolush from the 1957 USSR Championship. Tal opts for the Sämisch Variation to defeat Tolush’s King’s Indian Defense. Tal’s kingside attack is successful in large part due to the significantly fixed structure, and is kickstarted by the interaction between his g-pawn and g-knight. Pay special attention to Tal’s kingside minor pieces and observe how each carries a concealed threat.
I'm a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
