Brilliant - there's nobody like him, so totally out there, a pure creative genius that knows no limits to his creativity. From the origins of The Black Ark studios in Jamaica few would have imagined him still bringing innovation to the world of music. He visited a friend of mine and saw he had a selection of Lee Perry albums, so he asked to take a few. A week later, when visiting Lee Perry at the place where he was staying in Kenton, NW London, he saw his albums had been planted in the garden. It's a fine line between madness and genius and Lee Perry is the master of the high wire!

1. Perhaps only J.S. Bach has had more musical influence on modern music then this man. Dub, *All* Electronic Music, Reggae, Ska, Kaiso, Pop, Dub-Step, Hip Hop, Rap Break Beat, Trip-Hop, Modern Jazz, It all starts with this guy splicing tape reels into Riddims and then looping and over dubbing them. 2. I find it Tragic that the band leader guy mentioned, Bob Marley, The Clash, Keith Richards and then Conveniently left out Peter Tosh. This is akin to saying "Skrillex invented Dub music", it is that blasphemous. Peter Tosh is a musical Genius and deserves to be recognized far far far more than the Clash.

8 years ago,I smoked a fat joint with Lee's band while they were on stage performing. I had tried to hand it to Lee first, but he wouldn't take it.The rest of the band toked it up and passed it back. This was in a very small venue at The Parish in Oakland,CA. A friend of mine,Heavyweight Dub Champion (Grant Chambers) had just opened for him. When Lee was heading to the stage,he walked right past me with a pull behind luggage bag, buttons all over his shoes and hat and 2 young ghetto-lookin' hookers.I didn't recognize him at first and thought he was just some homeless guy. For an old man, he put on a great show and it was an honor to get to see such a legend.
