Whoever came up with this video series, it is an excellent idea. Thanks a lot :)

Nice video. Please note that you DO NOT gain an hour of daylight when daylight savings time arrives. It’s only an adjustment of the clock by one hour. In the northern hemisphere, each day from the winter solstice to the summer solstice you gain a couple of minutes of daylight. After the summer solstice you begin losing a couple of minutes of light per day.

I thought the same thing. It’s just a shift in daylight relative to the clock. Not an extra hour of daylight.

When I went there last year they told me I couldn’t stay at the shelter t the falls. Wouldn’t even point me in the tight direction. I was told (by the sales people at the Falls gift shop where you sign up that you are hiking the AT) I had to use the lodge or the campground around the lodge. They said no camping there in the fall and winter. When I said I was told 2 weeks before we could stay at the shelter they asked who told me. I told them a person there, I didn’t know his name. They told me the person gave me the wrong information. I also had one person tell me it would cost $55 to long term park there only to find out it’s $5. The employees need to be better informed.

Why not provide bag tags for the thruhikers this year?

Thru-hiker backpack tags are provided by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, not our club.
