Send that first one back for warranty. Gerber has a pretty good warranty program. Those inner tools are smaller because of the sliding pliers.

I wound up selling both to someone who wanted them, which led to my purchase of the Sog powerlitre. A way of keeping new stuff coming in. My opinion of the Gerber design is still held low, the leatherman free has a better one hand access system and still seems more robust, and while I can’t speak of the oht first hand, it’s outer tool design I think would benefit gerber. I think they just kinda cheaped out, especially after moving their center of manufacture to China. That being said I love a lot of Chinese brands, Civivi, Olight for instance. Both maintain high quality, where I feel gerber let’s things slip

@@TheOpinionarium oh for sure. You made the right choice. Gerber quality is really low. I have a lot but have gotten rid of them all except the Octane. Octane is actually a really good tool. I may purchase a MP 400, I did have one before but lost it. That was pretty solid too.

When you're looking for a diesel or 600 make sure that fully assembled in the USA make sure it's on the handle USA

All 400, 609, diesel’s and center drive’s are made Portland including the sheath’s. I have no problem with Leatherman but they use a bigger out sourcing of their parts overseas and all sheath’s are made in China. Swiss Army multi tools are made in one of two places Switzerland and Germany. SOG is all Chinese. Three of four I would buy one I would not. All the smaller multi tools are made overnight China or the ROC they have better steel so pick your poison.

I’d rather go for an Ozark Trail Multiforce for ten dollars more, it’s much more capable and for what it is seems pretty well made

What happened to the 2 week review? I scrolled through your videos and its not there. You said you'd give them a chance.

This is the second video, the first is here- kzitem.info/news/bejne/0qaDrKOhfXWag20 If I promised a third I apologize, this is one of the few cases where I actually lost the item on the go because of a bad sheathe and I wasn’t willing to buy another. The video I just linked is my third video on this channel, I was still working everything out back then so it may be different

Can this be fitted with a pocket clip
@TheOpinionarium

Not that I am aware of, though there might be an after market adhesive clip such as the one commonly used on the leatherman Crunch. I think it was called the NiteIze hip clip, let me see if I can find a link

I think you were unnecessarily hard on this tool. It's not perfect, but I don't think it's as bad as you made it out to be. You seem to be biased going in.

Plastic clips/locks have no business on a multi tool that’s going to be used near heat. It’s useless if that plastic gets to hot. Leatherman allll the way.

Absolutely agree. The design is downright painful, I’d rather get an Ozark Trail Multiforce at Walmart. They actually hold up well, and are 40 usd

@@TheOpinionarium I spent $100 on this damn thing.. gave it to my sister cause she just got her first warehouse job lol. Good for a first multitool but I always come back to my Leatherman Tool. Simple and effective.
