Not much gore. This scene didn’t need gore. It just needed a woman and a baby, a human killing lion and a terrified father who couldn’t save them. A bad dream sequence or not, this scene still haunts me to this day. The first time a saw it, I was very young, and things felt more visceral and impactful as a little kid, I didn’t even see it, my dad made me cover up with a blanket, but I did hear it, and it was too disturbing to ever get out of my head. Even seeing it now gives me chills. Real shame movies aren’t done like this anymore.

This was such a perfect scene cuz anyone familiar with Hollywood movies is expecting something exactly like this, she arrives and they’re gonna have all this dialogue about how important this place is etc etc and has to protect her. Close. He was a government official. And he was attacked the evening he arrived near the Camp, he was supposed to be there for dinner. The lion grabbed him but his gun was in the way and the lion couldn't finish him, instead it took his assistant, who's last words were "master,a lion!". Patterson found whitehead the next day when he went to the train station to see why he hadn't turned up for dinner.

The funiest thing is that in real life this happened to one of the hunters who came to kill the lions, or something very similar that may have inspired this scene: There was no woman, but when Whitehead first arrived at the camp to help with the lions, before he could even be greeted by Patterson one of the animals jumped on him. Whitehead shot his gun and the lion retreated, leaving only a clawmark on his chest, but turned against his indian asistant and dragged him into the bush. It happened so fast the victim only had time to say "master, a lion!" he was never found. watch the full documentary with images here kzitem.info/news/bejne/zneB3peEiqKahpw this part is told at 32:49

Like with some people thinking and saying. "Death casts a shadow". But God warns those of potential threats . . . so maybe this is like a premonition. (Yeah like with the FD trilogy) Of following a sign . . . But a warning can be anything, you could see in a dream, or see a somewhat hallucination . . . it may scare you, but it's for you to decide if it's real . . . sometimes it ain't, but sometimes it is . . .

Lions are awesome animals. I have a lion as profile pic. These lions hunted humans because human cattle gave illnesses to their prey, and they haven't got food. @@davidlopez6703 i thought they hunted humans because they were weak and outcasts and humans were easier to catch then faster animals.
@seviboi
3 жыл бұрын
@@n1551 that is one of the theories. One of the two lions had a handicap and couldn't hunt their natural prey so they restored to humans. Another is that the Tsavo slave trade routes were known to leave behind sick, weak or dead slaves to the animals and it became a behavioural pattern to eat human flesh. Only one thing was certain is that they did kill men for fun. Of the 130+ kills they made, only around 30 were actually eaten. This type of animal behaviour was truly a 1 in 10 million type scenario which made it interesting and so frightening. Just to think that those 2 lions were killing men just for the lols makes it soo scary.

Blooper Reel: when they are setting a trap for the lions in the old hospital in the video: The Ghost and the Darkness - 1996 - Lion Trap - at the 2.55 mark in the left hand corner, an extra or someone's arm opens the tent, this is before the lions arrive to sniff around the dead animal carcasses. I only noticed that just now.
