ROMANS 12:8 "...the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness."
If you have the grace gifting to show acts of mercy to people then it should be accompanied with cheerfulness. It's a blessing to be a blessing but if you're doing it with complaining and touting because you want everyone to know what a great sacrifice you are making for the Kingdom then perhaps you don't have the grace gifting or you're just doing it in the flesh. When you offer your body as a living sacrifice then it's not hard to do acts of mercy and when your mind is aligned with heaven's perspective then it's not hard to see why you're doing the acts of mercy. Then a Spirit of cheerfulness will come over you. The more you are established in the Kingdom Gospel of grace the more cheerful you will be in your acts of mercy!
