I am all about this! Let the church do the work the church was established to do. Be disciples. Make disciples. Be disciplers. The western model of "church" is not a conducive model to equip the church for being a fisher of men.

Nathan Hamilton as long as we are not anarchist I agree. So many people fly the banner of “American church is broken” as an excuse to either not attend a church, not to contribute to the discipleship of other, or to prevent themselves from submitting to church leadership. Usually it’s just a smoke scream to Jesus juke biblical responsibility. That being said. Things are broken.

So true. God spoke to me recently while I was reading the book of the Kings. Each time the king returned to God, they had to tear down the "Groves" and the "High Places". And God spoke to me and revealed to me that the modern church today are the groves and the high places. And what we need to do is change church back into a fellowship of Believers. And I believe the House Church is a movement from God to tear down the groves and the high places. And God also revealed to me that the House Church must start with the family. Start house churching your family before you start anything bigger. Get your family set in order before branching out.

Unfortunately, the way we do church in the 21st century is so off track from the early church. We were never meant to have mortgages, staff on the payroll, bills to pay, 501(c)(3) status. Thank you, brother, for this reminder that simplicity is the key.

I attend a small church in Garland, Tx called Household of Faith. In the 70s, there were a few house churches that combined to become one house church in 1983. We now have a building and about 150 members. But continue to do home meetings on Wednesdays. It started with ex hippies that questioned tradition and went straight to scripture. It is a typical Bible church except that we have never had a single teaching pastor. Instead a plurality of Elders and Deacons with different men teaching each Sunday. I like this because the focus isn't on a single person, but the whole body is encouraged to use their gifts and serve.

God bless you and thank you for doing this video. While my relationship with Christ Jesus is paramount to my serenity, I left the "church" 2yrs ago. Now people are starting to come to me asking me about Jesus, the Bible, and the signs of the times. I'm always happy to help others understand the will of God and grow in their relationship with Jesus, I BELIEVE the warning to teachers and have actually been trying hard NOT to be looked at as a "Teacher". I don't want to be a "leader", yet all my life I end up being the one who steps up and delegates unexpected situations. But so much has been happening these past 3 months that I just can't ignore the fact that God has to be bringing these people to me. Your video has helped to give me some confidence in giving guidance.

Thanks for talking about house church--I think one of the points was that making disciples is our mission and that church is what happens when we do that...but before, pray, pray, pray because it's only the Spirit who truly draws others to Himself. Francis Chan also talks about this in his latest book, Letters To The Church. I love the rawness and simplicity of getting together with a small group of Christians to pray scripture and seek God, and then look for that person of peace to disciple. I hope that when church buildings begin to open up again after COVID-19, that we don't just go back to our consumer churchianity. We can change; let's do this!

I agree, why would a disciple of Christ observe Easter? Especially in light of Deuteronomy 12:31 and Exodus 23:13. Doesn’t the author of Hebrews also tell us to throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. Continuing to observe the traditions of my forefathers which are a counterfeit of the Feasts of the Lord is like continuing to observe the dates that were important in my past relationship. Could you imagine how your spouse would feel if you came home on your ex’s birthday with a cake and shouted, happy birthday. I say: “ Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
@fatalheart7382

"Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day." The subject of this verse seems to fall in not needing to observe them, but elsewhere it says, "Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God." So it's not like God actually cares about what you want to consider in observances. However, in Galatians it does say, "Anyone who wants to be justified through the law has been alienated from Christ.", so the pursuance of these things for justification is absurd and good to warn against.

1:02:26 question. Only because this is something that I have pondered recently. You mention sanctified within a context that presumes a process. Shortly after you use sanctification within a process context as well. Is it truly a process? When I look at it, its appears that a thing is or is not sanctified or made sacred. Nothing in between. Looking at temple/camp/tabernacle practice and applying it to belivers. The image/ temple of the Lord. That clay pot/vessal..The temple is sanctified (cleansed?) then made holy by the presence of the Lord...... The Lord wont be there unless the temple is sanctified already. Just a thought. It's been rattling Round in my head for a few weeks now.

Nathan Hamilton in the New Testament the Greek word used for “sanctified” and the Greek word used for “saved” are the exact same word. Their uses are often interchangeable in scripture. We certainly are saved and we are being saved. So it is a moment of justification and it is a proses of salvation.

Luke 10:9 Heal the sick in it and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.' Or Luke 17:21 nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.". It is in progress...hope this can be helpful. Idk. I hate this whole conversation. Ism's are stupid. You've got Philip who preaches the gospel, baptises, and gets teleported away. Paul who takes those listening, equips them, leaves, and sends letters. I think I heard you guys talk about the dreams God was sending Muslims and right after the story, the question was asked, "How do we replicate this?" -.- Prayer was a really good focus; letting God lead was the scriptural choice. Trusting the Holy Spirit as the leader? Imagine believing the Bible when it says so. The reason I hate this conversation is not because too much evil was said. It's because everyone continues to treat God like a method and group of ideas instead of a person. What difference does a million followers make without the Holy Spirit? What good is a nation disobedient to God? But this religion we've created based on strategies of charisma doesn't serve the hand of God which is the foundation of the church. Edit: I'm glad they're starting to realize their organizations have nothing to do with God.

I'm about half way listening to this. You methodology doesn't work. It is also not scriptural. Your person of peace is about looking for someone with leadership skills, loves to talk, has connections in the community. You are not finding someone who wants to be a Christian. You are finding someone who wants to lead something. He is looking for something "new" that will make him more interesting than their current leader. That is not the person of peace in the Bible. I like the ambition but you are neglecting the true methodology of the NT. You are trying to emulate Paul and neglecting the true spreader of the gospel, Peter. Paul's missions was primarily to established churches. Gaining converts was a small part of Paul's mission. You can read in the NT where Paul mentions he doesn't think he baptized any except maybe one or two. NO, Paul's mission was to help Gentiles to understand what the gospel means to them. Peter's method is the one that needs to be emulated. We like to think of Paul because many of his journeys are recorded. And many of his letters to the churches. Paul even talks about desires to go to Spain because there was a new church there that needed instruction. This modern disciple thing is way off track and only leads to spread of pagan worship of false gods. Use Peter's method. We all need to stop trying to be Paul and be more like Peter. It was Peter who was multiplying exponentially new converts. Peter was making the converts. Paul had to go behind and explain how things work to the Gentiles. The Gentiles did not understand the Jewish ways. The church needs to discover the ways of Peter and Paul needs to be reduced.
