The Five Keys, in my opinion, are the greatest all-around group of their era. They had 3 world-class lead singers and an awesome harmony background. Rudy West recreates his original lead on their second recording--a big #1 R n ’B hit on the Aladdin label-- from the summer of 1951. He is backed up by Maryland Pierce, Ramon Loper (who replaced Dickie Smith), Ripley Ingram, and Bernie West. This clip is from, in my opinion, one of the the greatest vocal group revival concerts of all-time! --The Burlington County Concert from 1983. It’s definitely an awesome collection of lots of the greatest groups.
