This one must have been an export truck. When they exported them they got the side marker lights on the front fenders. Beautiful truck.

This is how you launch a Typhoon: Shift to neutral, raise rpm. Pump brakes, then hold brakes down. Return to idle, shift to drive. While holding brakes, SLOWLY and gradually raise rpm. Allow boost and rpm to build as long as you can hold it. Release brakes, hold on. Held back long enough, the front wheels will start spinning before you even release the brakes. 93 Typhoon has the most comfortable seats you may ever sit in.

The place that sold this is close by me and I was watching this on their website with the comment of "Coming Soon to Bring a Trailer". Too bad I missed the auction because I really wanted this thing.

The turbo was made but Mitsubishi, but that's because it was sourced by McLaren that provided the induction design and forged internals for the 4.3.

My buddy got a 1993 typhoon in 1995 when he turned 16. Id drive he sit in back n he played with his gf it while i drive back n fourth on the drag. Everybody rubbernecked or waved and gave props. That thing was a blast to drive i will never forget it. We trashed it sadly. We took it camping dozens of times in record speeds each trip. From seattle to eastern wa every weekend. I think we put like 75k miles on it by the syart of jr year. He got a badass Maserati and parked the typhoon, he ended up selling it off for cheap in early 2000s. Such a shame i wish he would have sold it to me the $3500. It ran but tranny was in bad shape, guess that happens when you floor it from every dead stop for years.

They only made so few because no one could afford them when they came out. The Syclone (truck) started at Lil over $25,000 in 1992 and the Typhoon was closer to $30,000. The only good thing about those prices are that they still go for the same money if they were taken care of, and that’s with like 25k to 50k miles on them.

@@richardbrooks4615 I paid 12k for mine it's number 2001 and is a 1992. Original color was white with the gray clauding. these trucks are very temperamental. Mine has sat more than driven. 4.3 is a bullet proof motor keep the oil changed and it's good. Everything around it is crap though. I'm waiting for SK kustoms in Illinois to have a open spot so I can ship my truck. He does Holley ecu conversions. After that the problems most have with the Sy/Tys disappear. I just got a quote 3500 for parts, 1k to 1500 for shipping' estimated 3k in work. Same price to ship back. I figure 10k in work for a fast super rare truck is worth it 22k in all.

@@FightLife41 Yeah. I'm starting to see the rise in 90s vehicles finally coming into their own. I would LS swap the typhoon if it wasn't so rare. I'm just trying to maximize the mods I have in it now. Maybe do E85 or add a bigger turbo.
