So I started snowboarding which change my life now I think about it every day and it’s my favorite sport. I am thinking about re-learning ski in the future but right now I’m going to stick to snowboarding if you broke your back snowboarding and you’re scared just try to learn ski like I did. Been coming back to Utah to brighton and snowbird every year since. I make the crazy 10 hour drive from LA. There were times I drove all night just to catch a day after a storm. None of the chutes in that area including Elevator Shaft are even close to Corbits in my opinion. I’ve ridden several of them (in powder though) and had no issues. I saw Corbits once once on a wind blow hard day and the drop in was probably 15-20’ completely vertical to hard pack into the couloir. I passed on it but it was 10x as scary as the Cirque chutes. Like people laying on their stomachs, looking over the ledge, scary.

My favorite part of this whole video is how as soon as that guy mentioned being nervous about dropping into the elevator shaft, everyone was like "hey no pressure man" because there's a lot of pressure with all those people staring at you and if you've been thinking about this one run all season, you know the best time for a run like that is on fresh snow. True friends will say "I know you've got the skills but if you're nervous and you don't want to, that's fine too". And thanks for wearing helmets. There are too many avoidable head injuries, and I wish pros would regule helmets because so many kids watch the pros and think they don't need a helmet. The best pow days are the ones where you come home safe so you can hit the slopes the next day👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

The way to hit the elevator is at moderate speed with a light jump, barking your "success" keyword as you go over the lip. I used to yell "Hee Haaw", when I was doing well, or needed to do well. Late comment but as somebody who constantly sends it on jumps and drops it’s nice to see somebody post one that’s not perfect. When you went heavy on the heel it looked like a lot of my sends which made me feel like I will get there one day! Keep it up!

I grew up skiing the East; Mad River, Magic, Tuckerman's, the White Face Slides... After a few ski trips to Utah, I had to move there. (15 years of Epic passes and Bird Unltd). There is nothing like taking your skiing to Snowbird Level. Yeah Mammoth and Whistler are cool, but it's not The Bird! After a big dump, you're hucking 20 footers like it's nothing because it's like landing in a huge foam pit. It's insane because each hit gets a little bit higher and a little bit higher. Before you realize, you find yourself stuck in a bomb hole that you can't get out of because you just launched a forty! The GAD Chutes are my favorite, but anywhere you find the 'not on trail map' extreme features as indicated by a bright orange 3"x3" diamond-shaped placards with white numbers and two letters (only found on the slope), you know you can seriously hurt yourself. Do a video hitting all the extreme features according to the orange signs!

Hell yeah, I will be checking this drop out when I hit Snowbird for sure. How is it compared to Corbits at Jackson? The camera never gives the slope justice.

I haven’t seen corbets in person but I’m sure it’s bigger than this. But you are right, the camera doesn’t do this justice. Let me know what you think when you eye it up.

I just want to say that that was really cool to see you all supporting each other and encouraging each other . When I was younger I skied with a huge group of friends and we were not very supportive and very ego driven especially myself. I just wanted to be a big air God , and I was but I think I was looked at by my friends as kind of a dick that was willing to break his neck if he had to just to catch more air or do a better trick than someone else. I wish I could go back and be that humble skier that encouraged people but I can’t . I’m glad you guys have that though , keep it up it’s nice to see that . ✌️

I keep wondering why all these riders don't have their buffs pulled up over their noses. Then I remember breathing through your mouth and nose is natural and safe outdoors. Outdoor masking rules make absolutely no sense. Also Snowbird is amazing.

@@BoredProgression I knew this was from previous year and it made me nestolgic for pre c19 days. Outdoor masking isn't going to keep most away from the mountain but there isn't any evidence that rona has spread outside at ski resorts or parks or trails.

Man, I miss the bird so much. March 14, 2020 wasn’t supposed to be the last ski day of the year in my head. Luckily I got 30 days in, but still... should have had at least 15 more. This is probably one of my favorite edits on BP. Kudos.
@BoredProgression

Thanks, I love this one too, Todd. Yeah it was very unexpected, especially since last year the bird went to July 4th! You were fortunate to get 30 days at least. Covid could have hit us in December or January! Let’s pray 🙏 next season goes better!

I used to think the day after a storm clears is the best day. But then I realized the last day of the storm is really good cause it always resets the pow after every run... this day reminds me of the peaceful storm day with just the core riders enjoying all the free pow thats not getting tracked out! LOL
