The Gnomes Of Wollaton Park, Nottingham (UK Paranormal)
Explore the eerie and fascinating events that unfolded at Wollaton Park, Nottingham, on the evening of September 23, 1979. In this video, we dive into the mysterious story of a group of children who encountered strange little men and their bubble cars in an off-limits area known as "the swamp."
Wollaton Park, a sprawling 500-acre sanctuary in Nottingham, England, is renowned for its picturesque deer park and the grandeur of Wollaton Hall, a quintessential Elizabethan prodigy house. This historic estate, housing the Nottingham Natural History Museum and the Nottingham Industrial Museum, stands as a beacon of beauty and tranquility. Yet, on that September evening, this serene landscape became the backdrop for an extraordinary event that left a group of local children in awe and disbelief.
Around dusk, a group of young children, not yet teenagers, were seeking adventure. It must have been around 8pm, a time when it was not unusual for kids to be playing outside until dark. This particular group of kids was playing near a fenced-off conservation area in Wollaton Park, which they referred to as “the swamp.” Through a hole in the fence, four of the kids ventured into the forbidden swamp, leaving the younger ones outside the fence.
As darkness fell, Patrick tripped and fell, only to notice strange noises in the woods. To their astonishment, a diminutive figure, about 2.5 feet tall, hopped out from a hole along the fence line and started gesturing towards them. Soon, a mob of gnomes in wollaton park, all laughing and gesturing, began to emerge from the trees. These beings had wrinkly faces, long white beards, and wore green Victorian-style nightcaps, thin blue tops, and green or yellow tights.
According to the children, there were around sixty of these little men, traveling in pairs in thirty small bubble cars of varying colors. These cars had odd triangular-shaped lights and no discernible engine noise. Despite the initially joyful appearance of these beings, the children felt both enchanted and afraid. The little men began to chase the children, who managed to escape back through the hole in the fence.
The story doesn't end there. This wasn't the first time these beings had been seen in Wollaton Park. Past sightings include various strange creatures and vehicles in the area, raising questions about local folklore and the nature of these mysterious visitors.
