How did you put the motors in down position before installing

They were all in the down position already. In fact, I had to replace two motors and the two replacements that came were also in the down position when they arrived.

I know that this is a year old but your video is the online installation video I saw that you drilled the hole in the pinch weld. My instructions didn’t say anything about doing that but I did because it does make sure not to have 2 bolts holding the motor.

Interesting… are you installing it on a JKU or a newer JL model? The directions i had clearly stated to make a new hole in the pinch weld on the back. I’ve never had an issue with these step sides since I put them on….. expect i ripped one of them off during a very intense rock crawling adventure. Easy to replace

@@marloncausey392 awesome. I’m happy my video was informative and helpful (that’s why I make them). It’s odd your directions didn’t tell you to do that.

I did... mine was not working either. i spent some time on the phone with tech support (very responsive by the way) and found out the magnets are very very very sensitive. Try just touching the door receiver with the magnet in your hand (not attached to the door) and see if it works. With mine, I had to put a thick piece of rubber behind the magnet to push it closer to the receiver and it worked. Also because it is soooooo sensitive, there is a EXACT SPOT for the magnet to go to trigger the door. Essentially the magnet and the receiver have to be very close. Once I found the right spot, it works 100% of the time without fail, but it took me about 30 minutes of adjusting position to find that spot.

Okay thank you but mine is acting like the sensors are not getting power. I guess I need to call the help line.

Considering buying these but worried about off roading with these? have you taken them out yet on rough roads?

Hey Brewster... sorry for the late reply. I have been off roading with these many many times. I have taken it to Windrock, Gulches, and several other off road parks. They held up great...... except I did break one of them off when I was doing a "man made" rock garden obstacle at Morris Mountian. The jeep went over a large rock and came down on the step sides. I found out quickly they are NOT Rock Sliders. thankfully it did protect my Jeep and did not get any damage to the Jeep but it broke the motor holding on the step side. I contacted GoRhino and explained what happened and they immediately sent me a replacement motor at no cost, no questions asked. All in all, most of my adventures are off road trails and overlanding, perfect for these. I would not want to rely on these at Moab or the Rubicon trail.

Excellent installation video of the steps. I really like the lights that come with the kit - very nice touch.
