I've just re-watched your reaction here. Having heard you relate how you've started to actually listen to this type of music after aging a bit, I'm very much compelled to bring this piece to your attention. I believe it will completely carry you away as it does to me. "Die Moldau" (a river in eastern Europe) composed by Bedřich Smetana. kzitem.info/news/bejne/yIqB2XytqpN6pWk This piece is beautiful beyond description. I can say no more.

It’s obvious you’ve discovered that you’re not just a causal music listener, but a passionate fanatic like most of the people here taking this journey with you. When you get the chance, definitely treat yourself to the symphony. If you don’t have any preferred composers or classical compositions yet, look for your local symphony doing music from film scores. Those are awesome and a fun way to enter that kind of live music experience. Great reaction to an incredible suite performed by an elite orchestra. Life’s too short to stop seeking great art. Keep up the great work!

It's a misconception that going to a symphony cost a huge amount of money or requires fancy clothes. They usually have matinees and great Pops series that are reasonable. One thing about the symphonies vs operas is that you are there to listen, and that can happen just as well from all seats in the house.

@@poloreacts27 Been following you for a while now Polo. One of my favorites is Nino Rota composer of The Godfather theme which is gorgeous. The entire soundtrack from Godfather II is awesome. He also did ALOT of Fellini's movies that IMO are spectacular. Three of my fav soundtracks are Le Notti di Cabiria, La Strada and La Dolce Vita as well as excellent movies but Fellini is my fav so I could be biased. Thanks!

The Danish National Symphony Orchestra is one of the best in the world. They do every movie score impeccable justice. All of the solo instruments in this piece have haunting melodies That's a mandilin, not a guitar. It's a major instrument used in Italian music. If you haven't reacted to "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", you MUST! Also The Star Wars theme is excellent. I like how these videos are produced so that certain iimportant ; (to the particular piece) instruments are showcased.

I remember the first time I went to a symphony. I think I was around ten years old. My family was very musical, piano duets every Sunday. I can remember how blown away I was by the full orchestra in person and how the floor vibrated from the full sound of the instruments.

If you're lucky enough to live in a city that has its own symphony orchestra, do yourself a favor...Treat yourself to a performance some night. Get a ticket and get all dressed up and make a night of it. Hearing this music performed live, in a concert hall, by a great orchestra is a magical experience. It makes you feel like you walk out a different person than when you walked in.

I LOVE this!! Having seen the entire Godfather saga a gazillion times, I can say they have covered every theme written for this epic film. Composer Nino Rota would be proud! This orchestra did a stellar job! I could see those specific scenes where those melodies were played, in my mind as they were playing. The soundtrack to The Godfather is phenomenal. The instrument that gentleman is playing is actually a mandolin, which originated in Italy. Another composer who has written really powerful soundtracks is Thomas Newman, who did the music for Meet Joe Black, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, the James Bond films Skyfall and Spectre among others.

Great reaction. And by the way, stop that "gettin' old" blubbering! I'm 70 and just got into Chinese rap! Music in you and it will talk! As someone else commented, if there's a symphony orchestra near you, go! Their summer programs are usually more diverse musically. Make friends with the people (audience is ok, but I mean the staff and performers) The best seat in the house is in the middle of the orchestra during rehearsal, and if they know you, you may get an invitation eventually. Worth it.

It really is incredible how music scores in movies are sometimes more terrifying than the scene, for instance in Jaws when the shark is in any scene its only the music that makes it scary, unless of course your afraid of sharks, water, drowning, sight of blood, decapitated heads popping out from nowhere,.. if thats the case, well your pretty much fucked aren't you.

Many movie scores are orchestral. Back in the day, movies like 'The Big Country', most John Wayne movies, Clint Eastwood movies, 'Quigley Down Under' with Tom Selleck, and many others were done by orchestras. I have a lot of these... all I can find. Surprisingly, the European orchestras are really into playing US movie scores and a lot of that can be found on KZitem. I also love the European musical Flash Mobs. That might make an interesting show for you.

If you've never seen The godfather trilogy, I suggest you watch it the way it was intended. As three separate movies. Some years after it was released on video, they re-released it as a saga. That just put everything in chronological order. I guess they figured that made it a little easier to follow. But watching it either way, you can't get it all on one viewing. Too many different characters and too much going on to absorb it all in one viewing.

this exists yet we get told by today musicians that instruments are in the past, they can't deliver the sounds we need. Lazy bums, thats what they are, people used to work for the best guitar riff, the catchiest drum roll, the grooviest bass roll. Seriously i hear music on the radio today and asides from 3-4 i cant even tell on music apart from the other. Classical music was and probably will always be the base for every other genre. It is what it is, music as humans created is an instrument based concept......
