Wat Saket, also known as the Golden Mount Temple, is one of the oldest Buddhist
temple complexes in Bangkok, Thailand. The temple’s origins trace back to the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Initially, it was a small and insignificant temple called Wat Sakae, named after the Sakae tree, whose seeds are used in traditional and modern medicine.
Within the temple complex stands a 79-meter-high artificial hill crowned by a Golden Chedi.
Visitors can climb 318 steps to reach the top. The panoramic view of Bangkok from the Golden Mount is breathtaking.
