The Gospels are the one place in the Bible where Jesus Christ is quoted. We cannot know what He sounded like, deep voice, tenor but we can know that He loved us. Paul tells us about how we should live if we love Christ. But Jesus' own words were that of the ONE WHO paid for our sins. If Jesus is not the ONE person who you go to for all things then perhaps your faith is not as strong as it should be. He is our HOPE, SALVATION, and best of all, OUR LORD. I am not only saved by Jesus but He comforts me everyday in every way. Even tho I have been saved for a great many years I still ask for forgiveness. I have not acted perfectly today (or any day) even tho I love Jesus with all my heart. I cannot go on without Him. God bless you Ron and thank you.

Wow! Very well done! I'm not going to put words in your mouth... powerful and true. As someone who's wanting to have others experience this transition, how do I not want to lead them by the hand? Is it me that wants them with me in this? How does those newly discovering the Word and wanting to be saved, not get discouraged in misunderstanding and fall away? Is that part of the process too? Does it take telling of Christ and working on our own impatience until they are broken and submit? Is this what being chosen of God means as opposed to someone following the Word? Are the second set, who seek God but do not have that impactful experience, those whom Jesus says he never knew? It really hits home how actually blessed we are to have endured some trials, and be called out through it. It shows the battles of humanity in the saved to allow the bending of the Word and trying to widen the gate.

I LOVED that he brought up the "I'm sorry " dosen't equal true repentance. Because its the truth!!!! The Bible talks about GODLY SORROW very different than sorry I got caught

Ron, You said that when someone sins against us, if that person does not repent, we can show that person “mercy”, but not forgiveness, (as Jesus did for us before our actual repentance) but what do you say about Matthew 18:21,22, when Jesus said to forgive 70 x 7, and puts no requirement on their repentance. (How do I get a response to this?)

I do agree with pastor Matsen on everything I've heard up to this point. However his definition of forgiveness contradicts what Jesus did on the cross. He asked the father to forgive them for they know not what they do. They had not yet repented and there is a difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. I forgive someone when they treat me ill and yet unless they come to see it and confess it to me in deep sorrow there's no reconciliation. That's the difference. So please explain, Mr Matsen, what you exactly meant when you said you can't forgive until they repent. The reason God told us to forgive our enemies, is because we don't want the root of bitterness and hatred to build in us. And because we were forgiven while we were yet sinners. Please tell me how you can define forgiveness the way you do in this part too of the gospel because it does not make sense to me. Thank you

Hi Miranda, Repentance is always a requirement for forgiveness. When the people asked Peter, “what must we do” Acts 2:38 (NKJV) Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 1 John 1:9 (NKJV) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Repentence has become a dirty word by NAR types, they twist it to be 'works' and of course you aren't saved by works at all. Saving Faith is given by God, in response to our hearing the gospel and choosing with a repentant heart, to believe - no one can boast because no one has it it not God given.

We can be sincere in wanting people saved, but we have no way to instill sincerity through ourselves, and the professes saved and unsaved has no way of sincerely repenting without desiring submission after being broken? They who have earthly desires have their reward already, takes on a new meaning. Sinner was a bad word choice, as we all sin. It takes the break was the intent of my question.

I think sin was and is a bad word choice to explain that we are in rebellion against God and that's what people need to turn from. When we tell someone they are living in sin and need to be forgiven of our sins well that's vague but if we tell people they need to turn from their rebellion and be forgiven of our rebellion against God, well for me that hits home.

@residue junkie No, sorry but Jesus said that the confession of Peter was the rock that He will build His church on. Not the man but the confession. it helps to read the whole chapter to get context. Peter veneration comes from the roman catholic doctrine - a most flimsy argument.

Not sure what your point is but..Yes He was, but He allowed it to happen for an example to the Jews and to obey the Fathers will, not for salvation or for sin committed. Are you saying Jesus was a sinner?

@residue junkie with the way you're thinking how do you know that Acts 2:38 isn't an altered scripture? You don't and you seem paranoid and you also need to take the whole counsel of God into account when talking about salvation and we need to trust God to be who he is and that he has the power to keep his word pure and in our hands. What you are doing is spreading paranoia to the unlearned and you should stop because you will be held accountable by Almighty God. He is Almighty and he is the one who is ultimately in control. As we love him we also trust him.

Jesus is NOT Santa Christ. He gives us eternal life through His death on the Cross and His resurrection from the dead. We first have to admit and accept that we are sinful from birth. It is not just an act it is born into us - everyone of us. We come to KNOW that we are sinful and deserve NOTHING GOOD. We ask Jesus to forgive our sinfulness. We love Him with our hearts, souls, might and minds. We all slip and still sin as saved lambs, but we realize our sin and ask for forgiveness.

He is the PASSOVER Lamb of God (EXODUS 12: 5-7_ 1st Corinthians 5: 7-8_ Numbers 9: 1-14); The Marriage Supper of the Lamb is our Blessed Hope; scheduled to take place in Heaven, and the heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19: 1-11_ Matthew 25: 1-11_REVELATION 19: 1-11). To the glory of God, Chuck Missler got me interested in looking into the Mazzaroth (Job 38: 31-33) and the Gospel which is written in Heaven (Psalm 119: 89_ Isaiah 40: 21, 26). Based on the understanding of the heavenly order, there is to every occasion a Season, and time for every Purpose under heaven (GEN. 1:14_Isaiah 7:14): The CORONA virus also has it's time and purpose (REV. 3: 10, 11); 2017 gave US two Phenomenal and Wonderful Signs: during the Great Solar eclipse, the Sun and the Moon were both over the star Regulus, the king star in the King constellation, Leo (the Lion of the tribe of Judah); followed by the REVELATION 12: 1, 2 , 33 days later (Matthew 24:33_ Mark 13: 33-37). And the Parable of the Fig Tree was set in motion (Luke 13: 6-9). Amen
