i always drop a few 80's rap songs at the skating rink! it never fails!! young kids identify with it and their way older parents remember it! it brings everyone together, crazy this much later it is a bridge between the age groups

Even if it was just live jams. A lot of hiphop acts took too long to release material, by which time the style had changed considerably and became outmoded. The time went so quickly and was constantly evolving, some of the genres only had a few years before fading out but nowadays its been the same dull trap style hiphop for nearly two decades with no sign of anything changing anytime soon.
